But seriously, I can't believe that all abandoned chefelfia. Where is Chyld? Jane Sherwood? Heccubus? SImeSublime?
In some cases I think that people finished college, got real jobs and real life and between kids, mortgage and car insurance there is very little time left for posting.
I did none of those things. Frankly, I just got fed up with the whole thing. I am not sure what possessed me to sign on today. I may try to drop in periodically. -

The new Prodigy album is another slap in the face, except this time it's more because they've just bought into the ridiculous "nu rave" culture that rose up last year. It's one of the worst albums I've heard all year.
The best album of 2009 for me so far is Sunn O))) - Monoliths & Dimensions. If you want to listen to music that could soundtrack a horrible nightmare, this is the album for you. Also:
Bill Callahan - Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle (Folk / Americana)
Sonic Youth - The Eternal (Experimental / Indie Rock)
Coconut Records - Davy (Indie pop)
The Horrors - Primary Colours (Shoegaze / Dream Pop / Weirdness)
Kylesa - Static Tensions (Stoner / Sludge Metal)
Dan Deacon - Bromst (Experimental / Electronic Pop)
Japandroids - Post-Nothing (Indie Rock)
Black Lips - 200 Million Thousand (Garage Rock / Pop)
Wavves - Wavvves (Surf Punk / Lo-Fi Rock)
Wolves In The Throne Room - Black Cascade (Atmospheric Black Metal)
Antony & The Johnsons - The Crying Light (Indie Pop / Chamber Pop)
Asobi Seksu - Hush (Shoegaze / Dream Pop)
The Decemberists - The Hazards Of Love (Indie Folk / Prog Rock)
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart (Noise Pop / Shoegaze) -

QUOTE (Gobbler @ Jan 23 2009, 03:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>... and this is where the genius thought of it comes into play, because now Google influences people to associate this shape with its own brand, trying to gradually push Microsoft and others out of their minds.
If that's the case, I welcome it. The push to further open-source implementation is a good one. -

It's not like anyone is going to stop using Google, or they're going to lose ad revenue because of their favicon. Sure they probably won't let the same guy design their next one, but I have my doubts that anyone is getting fired over a 16x16 pixel square that appears near the top of one's browser.
