I agree, far too many people have been easy on ROTS. For me, this was the first SW movie that I am utterly indifferent to. Usually I have a reaction, either a negative or psoitive one, to the SW movie concerned. I was just left cold with this one. I have also taken notes and am going to try to get a bootleg DVD - just to see if I can absorb anything else.
Nevertheless, Lucas has proved to me, with ROTS, that he does not give a damn for the prequels or the sequels. There were way too many things that were wrong with this movie.

Can you list a few things right now? Anything at the top of your head?

2) General Grevious was a complete waste of time.
I'll describe the movie for you in one sentence:

Thanks for defining my initial reaction. It was good leaving the cinema in the "well I didn't get insulted and screwed this time" kind of way. Not in the Applause way or the "WoW! that was f'in GREAT!" but in the "Meh, it's better than that last awful film" kind of way.
To me, anyway.

"Anakin, you're breaking my heart!" - poorly acted.
"What have I done?!" - VERY poorly acted.
"This is where the fun begins...!" - like a less concentrated version of "This party's over."
"You were the Chosen One!" - the sad prophesy makes a comeback, in Obi-Wan's feeble attempt to turn Anakin to the Light Side again.
"Ooh, I have a bad feeling about this!" - I never really got this running joke, especially since it was used wrongly in AOTC. Here, Obi-Wan is saying it while battling in his starfighter (once again, this is clearly not a good situation, so there's no need to say it), and it sounds like he's doing an imitation of someone else saying it. He says it a bit sarcastically.
I'll have to wait until I see the film before I pass judgement, but my hopes are high. Apart from corny dialogue, what I've seen impresses me. I mean, Star Destroyers are back! The Emperor! Darth Vader! Grand Moff Tarkin! Luke and Leia! DAGOBAH and ALDERAAN! I can't wait!

Here's my review.
Basically if you rearrange the letters in the word "SITH," you have this movie.
Chefelf, you have your work cut out for you.
I agree. It is SHIT.
(someone HAD to say it)

Nah not really. Indifference to ROTS is nothing to be tolereated. If you took the words Star Wars of ROTS, I'm sure this mediocre film would have engendered much more critism than it already has. If the most and best that you can say about ROTS is that it is better than the two previous films, then ROTS really is in trouble. Equally, to say it comes near, but not even close, to the original OT, again just damns the film.
