But, Jariten how can you explain comments like this in the OT:
OT Obi-Wan: "When I first met your father, I was amazed at how strong he was in the Force."
PT Obi-Wan: "Why do I sense we've picked up another pathetic lifeform."
OT Obi-Wan: "...the good man who was your father..."
PT: The only place where Anakin is actually GOOD is in TPM, and he's how old---8 or 9? I don't care WHAT culture you're from... 8 or 9 is not a MAN! And I didn't see a "good man" in AOTC, and obviously there will be no "good man" in ROTS.
I think a lot of these continuity issues only become serious if you let them (a lot, not all). Take the TPM Obi Wan line you posted. That was obviously intended to be a joke, Obi Wan smirking at Qui Gons love of taking people under his wing. I dont really think that you can etch that line of dialogue in stone and sell it.
The "good man" thing is open to interpretation. Was he a do gooder like Luke? No, hes more complicated than that. Is he a "bad" person at the end of AotC? No, I dont think so. Of course, he did bad things in AotC, but hes not a bad person.
snaithbert- Thanks for replying. I just think these boards are funnier when people are really venting their anger. I do understand why you think those things, even though I personally dont agree. but you have to try to imagine that just because you dont like these films, that doesnt mean that no else did. Theres millions of SW prequel fans knocking about here and there, and one day all of the OT nostalga will be gone (which featured, in one way or another, in a lot of the PT reviews I read)
Barend- what post? That comment was aimed at snaithbert.
