Tilby's Notes The new game

Still on my quest for unsolved questions, I found these:
Q - In Trilby's notes, where are the mask, the machete and the apron?
A - They're in one of the rooms. One we cannot enter, of course.
Q - What happened to the hotel staff?
A - This one seems to be obvious but is not answered in the game. You know those skeletons and rotten bodies we see in the Clabony Hel (the alternate hotel)? Well, they're the staff...

If you mean those flayed corpses, I think those might have been guests who lived in the Ethereal Realm and decided that this hotel was a nice place to take a nap at. If you examine (some of) them, I think Trilby says something like they're very old.
Remember the decapitated guy at the bottom of the stairs? He was the most recent addition to the scenery, and we know he is from the Realm of Magic.

That guy on the stairs is NOT from the Etheral Realm. He was from the Science Realm. Once upon a time he and his girlfriend entered the hotel because of a storm. They were scared and their fear teleported them to the Ethereal Realm. Once there and without tranquilizer pills, they were both killed by the Tall Man. The same process must have happened to many other people, including the hotel staff.

Actually, it was Yahtzee who said that the guy in the stairways was, in fact, from the Ethereal Realm. It's his word against yours.
EDIT: Anyway, if you read the poor bloke's journal carefully, you'll see that they'd seen the hotel the other way around than Trilby did. It says something like 'I must be going mad, I blinked, and for a moment the hotel looked warm and welcoming as it might have been long ago, but then I blinked again and it returned to its normal, hateful self.' This entails that they'd seen the hotel in its dark form by default, in the way it looks like in the Ethereal Realm. Because that's the residence of the Tall Man within the Ethereal Realm, where he is present at all times.

Yahtzee should answer with games, not with words! Now Im confused!
There shouldn't be any humans in the ethereal realm!

Yes there are, it's a dimension inhabited by humans along with magical beings. The likes of Chzo are balanced by benevolent creatures who have a similar amount of power, thus preventing the former from taking power. It would be interesting if the next game would introduce us to this world. Anyone ever read The Gods Themselves from Isaac Asimov for instance?

If the hospital still had staff, there's no way it would be that dilapidated.
What hospital?
