On another subject, a car I own that I need to get running again is an American classic, a 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 (2-door, powder blue, 289).
Anyone have advice on how to get an old car running again without causing damage to the fuel system? Want to chime in about your favorite SUV, compact or hybrid? Just want to brag about your top landspeed (was with a buddy who buried the speedometer at 120+ on his folks' Lincoln in high school)? This might be the place.

I <3 classic cars... '64-and-a-half Mustang; '60 Camaro, '72 or '69 Stingray, '71 GTO... And who does love any 50's Chevy or T-bird?
I could go on, but I'll stop now...

AM/FM/Cassette are hidden in the glove box, the interior is in good shape. Runs like a top. New leaf springs. bench seats...
Did I mention I had the front end rebuilt some four times? I don't think it will ever run straight again, even after one more front end job (which is needed greatly).
It was a sad day when I called to cancel my car insurance.
But it would move. And with no post, with all the windows down it was wide open, with lots of air. At highway speeds things in the cabin (papers) would go "zero-g".
Are your rides running? What's the condition? I used to joke that the '65 "came off the line when I did" (fall of '64). Pictures? I'll dig some up. "Rlane", she was called. The F-A-I were missing on rear side badge.
Let's Motor.

Tell me about it *sigh*.
I've got a 93 Ford Explorer. Now that thing is a tank! If anything, it can totally take a hit (which has happened to my father). My dad gave it to me to drive (it was a piece of crap then too, probably worth 500 bucks), but I've paid for everything for it since (which has been a ton of stuff).
My dad has an MG that he plans to restore one day. I don't know the year or model, but I know it would look sweet in top condition.

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

You and me both.
I generally drive a Holden Apollo(which is really a wide bodied Toyota Camry with a Holden sticker on the front) from 92 or 93. Sadly, it's currently in getting a new head gasket fitted. This is going to hurt my bank account.

I've got a Renault Clio 2. My friends call it the "Cocomobile". Yeah, really original.

And I assume it hangs in the air in just the same way that bricks don't?
I don't name my car, but I knew a guy who named his after a teacher at school he had a crush on. Everybody else found it rather disturbing.
I remember once a friend gave me a lift in his Subaru, and I made a joke about going for a ride in seven sisters. I feel the joke would have worked better if somebody else actually understood it. As it was, I just got a lot of strange looks.

I don’t name mine but I do treat them like living entities of sorts. They seem to have personalities and respond to gentle coaxing.

Oh come on, who wouldn't go "VROOM!" if you'd start using your tongue to persuade'em?
