When you live in the freaken desert where it easily goes over 100 degrees (F) it's not so stupid.

Yeah, you're from Utah. I'm sorry...

I wear long socks, but I pull them down if I have shorts on.

C'mon, Great Expectations isn't that bad. What about the rich kid who fights pip for no reason at all? I chuckled!

Hell, I wear short socks in Summer, what with it being over 40c. But I consider myself to be rather uncool, so it still holds.

What, you mean Great Expectations? Great Expectations I say!

I want to read Catch-22 so badly that it makes my computer sad.

Simple solution. Read "The Lost Honour of Katarina Blum", and then Great Expectations will no longer be the most boring book you've ever read.

I've never had to read Great Expectations, but I have seen that episode of South Park (loosely) based on it staring Pip.
Check out my crappy drawings!

Same. I remember relating the ending to somebody from my lit class, and she just thought I was crazy.

Pride and Prejudice: once you understand all the stupid flowery language, it isn't a million miles away from the Victorian version of one of those crappy romance novels you get in airports.

I believe Rhubarb did a Condensed version of it, I linked to it in the Best Of thread...

The other day there was a very scary guy in my class. Well, he's in all of my classes, but this was the first time he got my attention? Anyways! This guy's a complete nut case, and tried to make small talk with me? Like the whole "Hi, how are you today?" kind of thing? I didn't mind that.

BUT!

In my afternoon class that day, he sat down a few seats away from me. And every once in a while, I noticed him looking up and staring at me. Yes, me. lol Then, he'd look down at his papers, do something with his hand, and looked back up at me.

This kind of freaked me out, since he did it ALL CLASS, and that class was a good 3 hours long.

Then came the evening, and this time I managed to sit a few seats behind him, so he wouldn't keep looking at me, but that didn't work. During that whole class, he kept doing it. Paid a little bit of attention to the teacher, looked back at me for a few seconds, then again he went to his papers, doing something with his hand.

This was really disturbing me, so as he was asking the teacher a question, I sat up a little bit, and took a peek at his papers.

He was DRAWING me.

All over his sheet of papers were sketches of myself, in all sorts of pensive and anime-like expressive poses. Me with glasses on, me in a sweater, etc, etc. There was no denying it. I was so freaked out, I came to school today with an Exacto (sp?) knife in my pocket.

Drawing people you know? That's fine with me! But drawing someone who doesn't really know you ALL FREAKIN' DAY?? That's a bit scary.

Add the fact that he wasn't the most attractive human being in the world and.. you have yourself a problem.

EDIT - fixed spelling errors

That is scary on seventy six different levels... You should not only bring a knife, bring a neutering kit.
