It's so cliche. Fame destroys you and kills your privacy. What about the countless cases of famous people who don't feel this way. It's like when you get lots of money, your soul dies or something.

Then you hear famous people cry about fame and money and power, but you know they love the attention, and they love how they're telling you about how evil it is, but like they'd give it up in one fell swoop.

having people go through your trash and hover over your backyard taking sunbathing pics is still not something anyone outside of the KGB should have to tolerate though.

There are probably a few examples of where fame, and I mean real fame not celebrity status can be of benefit. Bono would be a great example of someone using their fame as currency to assist in their additional works outside of the career, but the problem is there are really only a few of Bono and a lot more of the vapid self-involved "stars" that use fame to push a product for a price rather than the betterment of people as a whole.

The only positive I could see in being famous is the ability to further make a diference in the world around you. But to be honest fame is not a requirement.

I dont know if I could be famous. I dont care if its cause I earned three purple hearts, a medal of honor, a nobel prize, etc.

I could never be famous. Being locally recognized would be alright, but not globally famous.

Once you achieve global fame,..thats it.its done..you are forever christened into eternal spotlight.

The actions you make from that point forward determine if your "spotlight" should shine brighter or if it will dim and fade away.

But no matter what, people will always remember that it shined.

Being famous like this means that everytime you want to go somewhere in public, you have to go incongnito, wearing shades, baseball cap, trench coat, etc to avoid public spectacle and being recognized.

Knowing that if you were recognized, you would be called out and soon commandered to give 1,000 or so autographs (depending upon size of crowd), maybe a few pics, and hand shakes. This happens all the time to celebrities.

What if youre famous and you came from an everyday average-joe lifestyle, and you wanted to venture out and enjoy that again? Could you really go back into wal-mart, target, game-stop, pizza hut, the local shopping mall and enjoy many of the things you were accustomed to before fame?

Ive alwatys wondered about that aspect of fame..can and do celebrities still get out enjoy the life they had before fame struck them?

For example, Jessica Simpson was a nobody from Abilene, Texas..now she is internationally famous,.do you think she can simply go shopping with her family again at the local walmart in Abilene without her having to don a fake wig, shades/or contacts,..she cant go as Jessica Simpson..that would be a very crowded walmart if word got out over the store's intercom.
