I've been giving this some thought for a while now. I'm thinking that I might like to get into the podcasting game, just for something fun to do once a week or so. It could be fun! And since I'm constantly acquiring new music, I'd likely be able to keep things fresh each and every week.
Anyone think they'd download and tune in occasionally?

It's not happening now. I thought that was implied by the fact that this post is over two months old and no such thing has surfaced.
Since you asked, however, it's easy. Taking MP3 files of music and my dialogue, mixing them in Acid and rendering a low-quality MP3 of the finished project is a pretty straightforward procedure. Unfortunately, it's the hosting that got me buggered. I didn't want to host large MP3s on my own webspace, because Chefelf's server costs are astronomical as it is. Having big honkin' MP3s for download wouldn't help at all. And unfortunately, due to my shoddy internet connection, I can't upload much of anything via HTTP, which rules out most Podcast providers.
Perhaps in the future, I'll resurrect the project, but for now, it's on the back burner.

Holy smokes, people. I've recently been shown how to go about creating torrents and hosting the tracker for them. As such, the idea of creating a podcast is all too real once again. The downloads would simply go through bit torrent instead of being hosted online somewhere. This saves me a heap of trouble with hosting a big MP3 file, as the file never leaves my computer until someone tries to download it.
I just might go ahead with this after all.
