I was going to take the moral approach and make this the first starwars feature release I didnt see as soon as it was possible. I really was. Despite the fact that it carries the name of my favorite childhood films and so forth, I managed to ignore clone wars for a good while. Then on my flight to Cairo they played it as an in flight movie. I saw bits and pieces of it...
So I figured if I'd already watched it I might as well buy it. I didnt want to reward Lucas for producing more starwars crap.... but cmon! its starwars! starwars, damn it!
all the same, mea culpa...
How is everyone else reacting to this thing now that it can be gotten on ebay or something without directly contributing to the sales figures?

Shame on you. That's like saying its ok to see a prostitute so long as your wife doesn't find out.

I haven't seen anything with the name STAR WARS on it since PHANTOM MENACE! Wheeeeeee!

Ah, the sweet sweet condemnation of my peers, giving voice to the inner shame I dare not express.
And Civ, if you only saw Phanton menace, you've already viewed the crappiest of the prequels (in my opinion so far... I havent really seen Clone Wars yet), so you've little room to laugh. I'd say you should see ep3 just to hear battle of heroes playing while Anakin and Obi Wan fight, but you could just as well listen to it sans lava surfing.

I haven't seen the movie
but i do watch the show from time to time
and its not that bad
Its definitely targeting a younger audience
with episodes on friendship, loyalty
and trusting your instincts even when others tell you different
so basically enthusiasts of the past can watch Star Wars with their kids

Friendship? Okay, a Jedi creed of sorts I'm guessing. Loyalty? Again, if it's about Jedi, they'll be loyal to the Light side of the Force.
Trusting your instincts even when others tell you different? Well, Anakin did just that and pretty well, and he turned out alright. please...
So what are they really conveying in this show?

Bless me father, for I have sinned, my purchase of Clone Wars
You will go to purgatory, and there you will grind your teeth.
No movie bearing the Star Wars label worth buying has been produced for more than fifteen years. For temporarily owning the prequel trilogy on DVD I myself will sure go to seventh circle of hell and have my behind eternally lashed.
Don't really mind as long as it's a hot girl doing the lashing, but the DVD:S I long since discarded.

I'm not watching the Star Wars: Clone Wars film. I've caught some episodes of the series on Cartoon Network, and it was watchable, but I have the OT, and as I've found, that's all I really require.
