QUOTE (Mnesymone @ May 31 2005, 02:19 AM)
If Wayne's World (both), Terminator and Underworld count as crap movies then they go on my shame list.

Terminator is definitely not a crappy movie, though I like the second one a million times better than the first.

Blasphemy!
Second one was made with none of the original spirit, and was made for the cash. It wasn't inspired by a fever dream, was too touchy-feely having been toned down for the kids. Besides, the core plot of it was based of deleted elements from the Terminator, since the idea of going after the Cyberdyne factory first arose in the Terminator, but wasn't put in to make the movie flow simpler and be shorter.
Also, it didn't do anything particularly new and the liquid metal man was irrationally powerful and looked like my brother.
Also, like many sequels, it was titled differently.
The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: Empire Strikes Back.

Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: Empire Strikes Back.

So what? You're points are as follows:

*The storyline had a few inconsistancies
*The storyline was based on something they cut from Terminator
*It wasn't particularly innovative
*The liquid guy was too good
*The title was different

Those aren't reasons to dismiss a movie as being bad. Let's complain about something like a crappy plot or bad acting.

I wasn't saying it was bad - I was saying it wasn't as good as the Terminator - it was just spliced together with big action and sold as an action movie, rather than as that peculiar kind of horror movie that the Terminator was... and my point about the actual Terminators stands - T-101 could be hurt, but he didn't care... he just kept going on regardless - T-1000 was impossible to hurt so nothing anyone did seemed to matter right up to the point where they actually killed him. Also what happened the fact that the time machine would admit only flesh?

I don't think I've ever liked a movie that EVERYONE hated, however if a month goes by and I don't see three movies that everyone else LOVED but I didn't, it's been an odd month...

That's cool.

------------------------

My theory with the T-1000 is that it can use it's power source to heal or do anything else. That's why you never see him heal while he's movine. Didn't notice that did you? That means if you put enough bullets in him, he won't be able to chase you anymore.

And the apologist answer to your question is that he formed his exterior close enough to flesh that the machine accepted it, but you're right about that.

Hey, Terminator 2 at least needs to get props because it's featured in... I want to say "Surf Ninjas", with the Game Gear.

Edit: Blashpemed the Game Gear by writing GameBoy.

QUOTE (barend @ May 13 2005, 06:09 AM)
Natural Born Killers (directors Cut)
-Oliver stone masacred this tarenteno script. but as a movie... I think it rocks. Everyone else i know hates it.

Soldier/Event Horizon/Pitch Black
three films that were pretty much the only films of their kind being made at the time. Soldier was a movie that i though despite it's slow pace had a cool concept and kurt russle... i doubt anyone here liked it either... Event Horizon was horror movie in space, sci fi nerds were too traumatized by it or wanted to know why more time wasn't spent talking about the space-fold drive, and everyone else had forgotten what horror was thanks to ronald regan... Pitch black was sweet. It worked for me... all three of these films just had a certain something about them that made them appeal to me... the atmosphere, the desolation, the darkness...quite frankly everyone else who has a problem with this can go @#$% themselves!!!

Natural Born Killers and Pitch Black are great... got both on dvd! - and an original dvd, for that matter. Hehe! thumbsup.gif
Event Horizon was okay-ish, not a bad movie by all means.

To start with I collect shlock.

1)Don't Go Near The Park: You should read the IMDB reviews, they are hilarious and accurate. It is awful, cheap, exploitaiton garbage, and I love every minute of it. The actors visably forget their lines in mid-sentence, and look off camera for prompts.

2)House of 1000 Corpses: I know a lot of people that hate this movie, but I love it.

3) Rocky III, and Rocky IV: The funniest movies of the 1980's. I drop whatever I'm doing to watch them if they are on TV, and howl with laughter.

4) The Chronicles of Riddick: Funnniest movie of 2004. I love how the Rock beats the Borg all by himself.
