As long as we don't descend to popups/gator etc, all should be good. Then again, this Winxp service pack 2(which installed itself regardless of the fact that I had auto upgrade off)seems to block popups on its own.

Grrr.. that WinXP Service Pack 2 took about an hour to install itself on my computer. Then it made my computer crash before it finished installing itself. Afterwards my computer was unstable so I had to remove it and this took another hour. When all was said and done, I turned off the automatic updates function.
However, there's a lot of good pop-up blocking stuff out there. I haven't found any ones that comprehensively block up all pop-ups though. Some pop-ups are extremely obnoxious.

Just use a different browser (i.e. Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, etc.). They have built in popup blockers and, since most browser hijacking software is written to exploit IE, you'll be safe from any of that. However, Panicware's Pop up stopper always worked well for me with IE.

Don't worry, though banner ads are proven more effective in generating income, I don't think we'll ever stoop to that level here. They effect the quality of one's experience on a site far too much. Pop ups just make you want to leave a site as soon as possible. As for Gator, well that's only going to happen over my dead body.

Don't say that, they may hear you. I mean, they're notorious enouf as it is, I doubt they're above murder.

Ha ha, yeah! They are just as sly and tricksy as those people over at Intell.
Nasty Communist pigs!!! I'd rather sell me sow than eat their salad!
Nevertheless, you should have put a self-destruct option on that post, or at least go to a safe house.
Oh by the way, SimeSublime I really like your avatar. Chronocross rocks, but it is so difficult.

Difficult? I'm playing through for the first time at the moment, and haven't had any difficulties at all. I just met the water dragon, and am at Mt Pyre for the first time in Another World. Perhaps it gets a lot harder later on?

Possbily they're refering to one or two articles on L&E, or on the various other forum members sites. In which case, they are clearly wrong. And we all know that around her, if you don't like something, there must be an indepth bulleted list of reasons to hate Star...I mean said problem.
