Topics I've Started

  1. I've Learned To Accept The Prequels Finally....

    Posted 26 Nov 2008

I've managed to accept the prequel trilogy for what it is finally if you imagine that George Lucas, genius himself, wrotethem while sitting on the can (toilet). This e plains the rushed tone that leads nowhere and interrupted ideas not fleshed out, like an elected 14 year old Queen and little Force thingies in one's blood that don't have much to plot-wise later on. Sorry. I doubted you, George....

Try it, it works for nearly every silly scene....
  2. Happy Lando Calrissian Month!

    Posted 2 Feb 2008

To play the part of Lando Calrissian, George Lucas tapped actor Billy Dee Williams to portray the first owner of the Millennium Falcon and administrator of Cloud City.
  3. Make Your Own Special Edition

    Posted 2 Dec 2007

So what changes would YOU apply to the Star Wars saga? You know GL hasn't stopped tweaking with the films, so why not offer up a change or enhancement YOU believe should be done?

Me? Well, I'd have the Alec Guinness Obi Wan that appears on Hoth, the one that awakens Luke and tells him to go to the Dagobah ssytem to learn from Yoda, gradually morph back from the older man Luke knew, to the younger one played by Ewan McGregor. This would then lead to a newly filmed scene during ROTJ where the useless "from a certain point of view" speech is eliminated and some really dramatic stuff is revealed by a youngish Obi Wan looking spirit to Luke.
  4. Seeing Red.....

    Posted 9 Jan 2007

You know the scene, when Vader's helmet is lowered in place and we the audience
see what he sees, which is the Terminator like digital readout, which renders the whole world red. What would the reason for this be? It can't be damage from the Mustafat battle, because he's incinerated from the waist down, and Obi Wan has no damage as far as we can tell later on, and he was exposed as much as Vader. Red would seem to hinder the vision of someone who wasn't previously accustomed seeing in this range, rendering it quite impractical and further cutting down on Vader's effectiveness as a fighter.
  5. "They Came During The Night and Toomk Your Mother Away...."

    Posted 26 Dec 2006

Just struck me again how dumb that supposedly dramatic dialogue that the Elder Lars says about Shmi being taken away by the Sandpeople is. His bum leg and the fact that he could probably buy another wife after next season's earnings come in didn't exactly light a fire under his still intact ass. Owen seems content in waiting out until the old guy passes on until the still/moisture farm is all his. Someone from across the galaxy manages to find Shmi with a little work whereas these two have written them off for dead ASAP.
