We'll be able to recruit other people into our little posse as the game progresses, Otal. There are a ton of NPCs, and just being stubborn enough usually lets you find just what you want (and if you know where to look)

Australian Male Merc it is.
You have 36 attribute points to distribute amongst the six stats (Mexican has a triple SKILLED trait, which cost him), ranging from 1 to 10. This is to show that you're exceptional. The accompanying text is as follows.
1 = Crippled
2 = Handicapped
3 = Weak
4 = Sub-par
5 = Average
6 = Impressive
7 = Magnificent
8 = Unbelievable
9 = World Class
10 = Deity
Attributes are: Strenght, Speed, Style, Moxy, Brains and Charms.
Now seeing as he's a Merc, he starts with the following skill bonuses:
Slashing Weapons + (6 + current level)
Rifles + (6 + current level) / 2
Hand to Hand + (6 + current level) / 2
This may not look like that much, but your initial skills can only reach 5. Maxed out, slashing is at a whooping twelve!!!
Starting skill points: 30 generic, 10 combat specific, 5 shadow skills, 5 social, 5 other to a total of 55. Enough to make a well rounded character.
Now this is not all, there are also Backstory Traits and Generic ones, but they are optional.
Backstories:
Raised by Crocs
You were abandoned as a child, but the great white crocodile Nephelim (get used to this stuff, JRPG) who raised you as his own. You were discovered in your later teens by a television personality and were re-educated. Nephelim's wisdom stayed with you.
Game effect: Can recruit crocodiles and aligators. +4 on languages, -8 to Leadership, +1 to Speed, -1 to Charms. (this means that the charm max is now 9, and strength is 11)
Career Soldier
The army is and has always been your home.
-1 to Brains, +4 to Automatic Rifles, Pistols, Rifles and SMGs. Starts with a side arm, a clip but no money. =3 on all Shadow Skills. Hit to the standing with the more underhanded factions (read most criminals)
Street Samurai
Working only for the highest bidder and reaping the reward.
-1 to Style, +4 to Sneaking, Disguise, Lockpicking, Free Running and Hacking. Unable to do police tasks. Increased chances of being invited on Secret Missions. Start with an Assassin on your tail. Double starting cash.
War Criminal
You have done horrible things in your lifetime. Thankfully you've had your face patched up and a new identity forged.
+4 to interrogation, disguise, counterfeiting, languages and laws. You have a secret, do something too noticable and there is a possibility that the truth will out. This can happen in a variety of ways. All of them nasty. A new identity costs either a random attribute or 100.000 dollars.
Generic Traits
Skilled. Trait one attribute point for ten generic skill points.
Wonderchild. Trait ten generic skill points for one attribute point.
Brute. -1 to Brains, +1 to Strength
Pretty. +1 to Style and Charms. -2 to Strength.
Streetsmart. +1 to Moxy, -5 to Reading
Pacifist. Unable to initialize combat, +15 Social skill points.
War Mongerer. Around you, people get very violent. More and more people seem to get involved into your missions, and with them, the body count. (This goes both ways)
