Got an Acceptance Letter! A publisher is picking up Shimmering Sword

Just wanted to share the good news. After only two years trying, I finally got a publisher to pick up my self-published book Shimmering Sword for a rewrite. They like all the Star Wars stuff but want to have it rewritten with more of an academic focus with endnotes, more analysis, and more history.
So now I've got 5 months to do all the research and writing, and then another year or so for production. I'm hoping they'll release it in conjunction with the release of the SW TV series so the book can ride on its coattails. I don't know if the book will be hardcover or not. Libraries, McFarland's primary audience, usually buy hardcovers, so that's a plus.

That's awesome Nick. Did they give you an advance?

It's general known that they don't typically give advances, but I put up a decent justification for one. We'll see. And I'll let you know.

The publishing world is probably
a little wary about advances
especially after the OJ Simpson scandal
Still i hope you get it

That's great news Nick!
I'm with ChefElf, I loved the version that you published yourself so I'll certainly be picking up a copy when you re-release. Make sure you let us know when it's hitting the stores.
And don't be such a stranger
