"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

It was so obvious that they were gonna make out. Face Luke thinks that Leia is one hot chick and he had the hots for her. And if you have the hots for someone than you are gonna find a way to kiss that person. Who cares if they are brother and sister!!!! Most people kiss their sisters since they have a mini crush on them. This goes for Luke and Leia. Way to go Luke!!!!!!!!
I agree with you fully.

I still can't and never will ever buy that Luke and Leia were intended to be brother and sister. I could have accepted that Leia was "the other" but not a relative. There was a better way to approach this and still keep elements we loved about the original relationships in SW/ESB.

I could picture Luke Skywalker brushing his teeth 20 times consecutively and then gargling a full bottle of Listerine after he found out Leia was his sister.

George Lucas made the STAR WARS movies up as he went along. There was never any grand scheme. As for possible sequels, Lucas will always retain the control of sequels so that Fox won't be able to make any without him or at least his consent. Retaining the legal right to a project, and indeed signing actors for it, doesn't actually mean you plan to make it. It's just good business, and it happens a lot. For example, Pierce Brosnan signed a 4-film contract when he made GOLDENEYE. That didn't mean that they would ever make another one. It just so happens they made four films with him, but they didn't have to.

Excellent points, and I agree! Lucas isn't above BSing us by making one statement then claiming he didn't really mean it (we all make mistakes, but he seems incapable of just saying "I changed my mind, deal with it" oh well) and he does make it up as he goes along. A few ideas he had for a long time ended up in the prequels, but he didn't have them planned in advance, despite what many people seem to think or even what Lucas seems to imply at times. Looking at the process it seems obvious he's been making it up as he goes along, as you demonstrated so well. We forget that now because we "see how the classic trilogy fits together" and how it has for the decades before prequels and even the special edition changes. There doesn't seem to be any hope that "sequels" will be made, only the wild fantasies of fanboys and hoaxers like SuperShadow (who, if he was serious, would just go ahead and make some fan films like everybody else, instead of pretending to work for Lucas and make grandiose statements about something happening in the next 10-20 years).

WHO FREAKIN' CARES!!!
If Lucas had the whole outcome planned through Ep IV-VI then cool. If not, then he is a liar and falls in the category of everyone else in Hollywood who lies. I think the OT flows smoothly still if you take it from the point that Ben lied, Yoda held the truth, and because Luke and Leia did not know they kissed a few times in the series. Once Luke found out, Lucas could have had him explore the ramifications in Luke's thoughts about this but he didn't. Ah well.
As for Darth Vader's name/title/alias/whatever, I completely agree that if Lucas had this planned for him to be Anakin then he would most likely put every obscure road block to make sure fans did not know. Now I know I get confused when I think that Darth Vader would not link the names together of Skywalker, and the new addition to ESB with the conversation with the Emperor really throws all sense out of whack, but people make mistakes and no one is perfect. Least of all people who post on here (including me before anyone else beats me to that punch).
Bottom line, Lucas made some memorable movies that will be exactly that, remembered! When you write a draft, novel, screenplay, whatever, use whatever methods you want and make sure it all flows. However, I am sure there will be times you will look and think, "I'm kind I left that wide open because I think I want to change this or fill in here". When you do that just remember how stupid you sounded on this forum with your judgments against a man who is wealthy not just from the fans, but from you disgruntled internet jockies who spent money to watch them just so you can try and be a critic.

Most of us who have created and written our own stories are the same way. Usually it begins with a vision and an inspiration that gets the juices flowing to write it all out in vast detail. As we move along, we tend to either enhance or modify certain details to better suit the overall story or add more intrigue to it.
I believe that after Lucas had actually seen that Star Wars (1977) was indeed a smash hit, only then did he realize that a sequel was commercially inevitable due to high fan demand. Well, between Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, there was a novel released "Splinter of the Minds Eye". In this story there is mild sexual tension between both Luke and Leia, which would indicate that Lucas may have been at one time inclined to have a romantic scene between Luke and Leia in the sequel,.furthermore,.its also plausible that the motion picture we all know as ESB could have very well been entitled Splinter of the Minds Eye. The photo we see may have been either a promotional photo that was never used, or from footage of a script that never saw the light of day.
Shit, Fuck, Piss: I had to say that because I can on this website. (Thanks Chef!)

Exactly. From the longer first draft of STAR WARS, and from things Lucas said in early interviews, we know that regarding Anakin's fall, Lucas had penned "volcano." Regarding Luke's heritage, he'd had an idea that Luke's father was still out there somewhere, and that he might come back. He changed his mind about that and wrote in the idea that Vader was Luke's father, with mixed results. Mixed in that it set up a father-son conflict that would have been pretty cool if both characters had been fleshed out. Since only Luke was a character and Vader simply a villain in a black mask, the emotional content was missing on Vader's side. But that's beside the point, the point being that Lucas had no idea when he started EMPIRE what he was going to do in the third film, let alone all the prequels and sequels he kept talking about.

Similar to George Lazenby, whom EON wanted to sign a seven-film contract that would have him play the role of James Bond until 1990. Unfortunately, his managers disrupted the negotiations and forced him to pull out, leaving it to EON to lure back Sean Connery with some $6 million. Sad, really.
