St. Patrick's Day What's in your bloodstream?

I had an uneventful St. Pat's day. Lady friend left town that day so I sat around with a sixer of guiness, of which I only had 1 before my roommate wanted to go for a drive. So we drive 60 miles north to St Joseph, Missouri for no good reason other than to enjoy the night air and some music. My throat is still sore from the attempted rocking out.

i had a few pints of killkenny at some pub i can't remember the name of, then walked home 'cause everyone else upset the person who was going to give me a lift.
if everyone would get drunk more like me and less like themselves... the world would be a friendly, funny, place where McDonalds did a lot better...

What tops it all, however, is kebab-meat pizzas. Freaking lush.

Well, it's Irish appreciation day, or was until two hours ago. How did you spend it?
I was visiting Chicago, which has a pretty sizable Irish population, and so I was looking forward to heading out and seeing what went on as far as Irish festivities.
Went to a joint just north of the Loop (downtown Chicago) and gave $3 to a collection jar as a cover charge. Apparently, they were collecting money to give to kids in need. Went in, saw about 500 people more than the fire laws would normally allow in the place. Tried to get a drink, couldn't even make it to the bar. Got splashed with green beer by a drunk trying to make it to the bathroom. I then asked how long it would take to get a table, and the woman in the "Guinness" hat behind the counter said "oh, two hours or so."
So, there I was splashed with beer, unable to get beer myself as the bar was literally crawling with drunks (and I get sort of claustrophobic around a lot of people), and I was going to have to wait around two hours to get seated. So I did what anyone else would do -- I left, went back to the hotel but stopped at local deli and liquor store to pick up a 12 pack of Mickey's Bigmouth and a corned beef sandwich, and watched "The Quiet Man" on the hotel TV while slowly going into a Mickey's daze.
Not too shabby, really.

I participated in my office's St Patrick's day concert and played a theremin/keyboard duet with one of my co-workers. The song was an instrumental called "The Sailor's Hornpipe."
I wore a green shirt so I wouldn't get pinched. I only had one beer, a $1 special on Killian's Red at Hard Times Cafe.

I don't think anybody's tried to pinch me on St. Patrick's Day since I was in elementary school, and I'm sure if they did now, they would most likely walk away with a bloody nose.
And before anybody says anything, it wouldn't be from pissing me off...I just startle very, very easily.

We don't have the whole pinching thing here. Like I said, I didn't even realise it was St Pat's day, and I barely even know what it's for. Something to do with scaring snakes out of Ireland?

St Pat is most famous for a metaphor he concocted during s drunk about how the shamrock had three leaves, yet was one plant, like God the Trinity had three persons, despite being One God.
Also, he was a religious leader at the time that the Celtic Druids were having their heads dashed against rocks for being heathen and failing to convert fast enough. Whee. Nowadays people in Ireland like to associate "Celtic" with "Catholic," and they beam with pride both about their Celtic roots as well as St Pat the foreigner, which is odd but certainly not out of character for religious types.
