Or so you think...
We get flooded every day with American crap, and if that wouldn't be enough we make our own crap... And our own crap tv stations, and then stop broadcasting good foreign tv stations...

One of these things is a C4 explosive device, and the other is a lite brite. I would like you tell me which one is which.

That IS a good thing, be sure of that, David-kyo. I mean, a stupid cartoon is one thing, but when we talk about a cartoon that is worst than being punched in the face....

Yes, except one of them has been dismantled already.

I hate linking to wikipedia, but it does a pretty good job of sweeping everything together here. I'd like to point out that the batteries you can clearly see there were covered in black electrical tape.
From TFA:
"Peter Berdovsky, who had placed the device, went to the scene and video recorded the situation. Berdovsky recognized the device the police were dealing with but made no attempt to inform the police at the scene of what he knew about it. Berdovsky returned to his apartment and contacted the company Interference who had hired him to place the lights. He was told by Interference that they would handle informing the police and that he should personally say nothing about the situation."
I mean, I don't care how realistic you think these things look. Obviously somebody thinks they are bombs. You can't go out of your way to tell the police (who are right there) that it isn't a bomb? What kind of an asshat are you?

The kind of asshat that has faith in the Boston Police Department's ability to distinguish a lite-brite from an IED. I keep forgetting that we're all supposed to be completely paranoid fucks because the "officials" throw the phrase "Post 9/11 World" at us about three hundred times a day.
Personally, I think it's hilarious that Boston wasted all that money because they are too stupid to tell a bomb from a childrens' toy. I think it's even more hilarious that the Boston city council demanded millions from Viacom. It's like an infantile refusal to take responsibility for their own incompetence.
In fact, I found it so hilarious when I first heard about it that I made this .GIF:

Also, in this post-9/11 world, I never have coffee and ice cream at the same time.
You just can't be too careful. Not in this post-9/11 world.

Seconded. I've watched ATHF about two or three times, and it was enough to decide not to watch it never again. Nothing but swearing and nasty characters. But I have to say it's not the worst show at Adult Swim. That one with and the green alien from Space Ghost and what is supposed to be his family is the worst, definitely.

But ATHF and The Brak Show are not nearly as bad as Squidbillies, 12 oz Mouse, or Perfect Hair Forever.

I actually liked Sealab 2021 better - haven't seen many of the new ones since I'm actually attempting to watch less TV; cuts too much into my forum and gaming time. *sigh*
