Seriously, it's been everywhere. All the major news outlets have covered it, just about every satirical/current event show has covered it, it's been discussed in every workplace.
Yes, the tabloids and the glamour mags made a bigger deal of it than the rest of the British press, but you genuinely couldn't escape it.
Frankly, to my mind, I just see it as another person dying of cancer. I'm not happy about it, I'm not sad about it. I don't know the woman, and she annoyed me when she was on TV so I chose to ignore her. She has had no impact on my life. If anything, the fact that this was so public has done wonders for the public's awareness of cervical cancer; apparently thousands of young women have booked themselves in for smear tests as a direct result of this story.
My main gripe with the whole situation has been the complete 180 the papers did after the racism allegations in 2007. After branding her a disgusting racist not fit to converse with people, the moment the papers got wind of the cancer they leapt on it, calling her a 'star', a 'brave fighter' and an 'angel'.

I wouldn't genuinly wish cancer on anyone, I've seen what it does to people, it quite literally destroys people. Its horrible, plain and simple, and wishing it on someone when you know what it can do is subhuman.
That given as read, while I wouldn't wish cancer on Ms Goody, I certainly don't believe she deserves the Princess Di treatment*. She was a chavvy mong who appeared on the Great British Brainrot Show, somehow remained precariously balenced in the British tabloids, offended the entire population of India, then caught a horrific disease and died. And while I've been typing this, someone far more justfiable of this round of mourning has also died of cancer. And no-one outside of their friends and family will know who they are. Meanwhile, Ms Goody spends a month in the papers, and will probably be there for another month or two, and eventually, blissfully, will slip from the minds of the British public.
Now restore my faith in the FR forums everyone, drop it and leave it alone, the cat brought it in, we don't know where its been, just let the cat take it out again in its own time.
*for the love of god, please don't let there be another round of that. It took us long enough to get Madeline fucking McCain out of the papers.

Once again, someone has put it better than I could ever hope to.

Now you're getting it. You have just won the game.
No one's completely sure weather Maddie's dead, though her parents have already paid their mortgage using the money from the papers, so i guess we know who the killers are even if there is no body.
No, I don't give a shit about Maddie.

Ok, my $0.02. Jade Goody was quite possibly the epitome of stupid British celebrity; and the complete inability of our press to stick to our guns for fear of offending someone. She was racist, thick as 2 short planks and inept at everything. She was the sort of person we should be ashamed of.
However, to wish death upon her and rejoice at her passing? That's just downright disgusting. Up until now I didn't give a shit either way; I saw her story in every paper and magazine I saw and just didn't take any of it in. But I can't help but get enraged when people actually REJOICE at her death... If you celebrate her passing; you're just as thick and insensitive as she was. No...moreso...

Princess Di didn't deserve the Princess Di treatment either.

Never underestimate the strength of stupidity in numbers.
Natural selection got to her, perhaps?

According to the tabloid images posted above, she has two sons. So, no.

Very true, 10 years later, and the Daily Express can still double its sales by sticking the old tart on the cover. Don't even need a story, "Herrings Burn Down Small Church" works just as well. Its very annoying.

The Expresses front cover a few weeks ago was a picture of William and Harry with the headline "Isn't it time we leave their mother alone?"
Obviously the Express don't understand the meaning of irony...
