Everyone I seem to talk to about Sonic dislikes both the character and the games, but I really like both. Everyone but me can't hate hate Sonic, can they? I'd like to know where you stand on the issue.
(don't hate me too much if this topic isn't particularly interesting, etc.)

Knuckles is an Enchidna.
Final Fantasy Tactics owns... haha.
I liked all the Sonic games, even the Advance versions and the Advernture series, and even the short-lived Sonic Shuffle party game...
But nothing beats the older Genesis titles. Those are definate classics.

I like the Sonic games but I find that after playing for about an hour I just reach my limit. Then I just start running as fast as possible and completing every level with one ring.
I dunno. Maybe it's just me.

I love the sonic games. Not the new 3D ones, I like the older ones for the original Sega.
The only things I don't like are as follows:
1. The voice of knuckles. He is supposed to be evil, not a business man.
2. Why did they change Dr.Robotnik to Eggman? That is just wrong.

I was never much of a SEGA fan, but I played the Genesis Sonic titles and Sonic CD, and they were all highly enjoyable.
Although Sonic games don’t require much brainpower, unlike most of my favorite games, they require good hand-eye coordination and reflexes.

Everyone knows i love the Genesis Sonic games. so easy to just get into - you can beat the second one in 15-20 minutes (i haven't yet, but you CAN). I only played the first Sonic Adventure for a minute or two, but i still really play through it all.
Sonic Shuffle was ass, i'm sorry. i just can't find any redeeming value in that game.

DANG! I had no idea that anyone at all would have posted anything on this thread. Thanks everyone.
Anyway, LooktotheSky, about your idea for a 'Super Smash Brothers' thing made by SEGA or KONAMI, I dunno how that would work. I mean, I can see how Sonic would obviously beat the crap out of everyone due to his insanely high levels of speed and all but...it doesn't really sound all that fun. However, the KONAMI thing, now that could work, but not in the sense you are thinking of. Maybe incorporate some kind of VS mode into a Metal Gear game. That would be cool I think.
The best way to further the Sonic franchise isn't through incredible processing or brilliant graphics or fun new gameplay gimmicks. The way they need to really get the franchise going again is to actually have some kind of coherent storyline, something above the whole "AHAHAHAHA, I am Doctor Robotnik and I will defeat you, Sonic and ever growing assortment of bubble headed bipedal animal friends, and there is no way you can stop me!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ha." story that has been in every Sonic game since the beginning.
Any thoughts, comments?
