I had nothing to do with this shit.

Blame another scapegoat (like Saddam or Slobodan.)
"I felt insulted until I realized that the people trying to mock me were the same intellectual titans who claimed that people would be thrown out of skyscrapers and feudalism would be re-institutionalized if service cartels don't keep getting political favors and regulations are cut down to only a few thousand pages worth, that being able to take a walk in the park is worth driving your nation's economy into the ground, that sexual orientation is a choice that can be changed at a whim, that problems caused by having institutions can be solved by introducing more institutions or strengthening the existing ones that are causing the problems, and many more profound pearls of wisdom. I no longer feel insulted because I now feel grateful for being alive and witnessing such deep conclusions from my fellows."
-Jimmy McTavern, 1938.

I don't see why sales for her books are rocketing again. Probably because people are developing the selfish gene again.
I don't know about her books, but damn; she's ugly.

There are many economists who suggest that sales of ATLAS SHRUGGED spike whenever the government interferes with business, and that the current spike is due to the bailouts. The cause of this should be obvious: whenever a thing like a bailout happens, folks who already own and have read the book buy it as a gift for someone they know who has not read it, hoping to show them that Rand predicted just this sort of thing (she didn't). Probably in a lot of these cases, the books are never read, but that's the way it is with gift books. For instance this Christmas someone gave me a copy of "Twilight," and I was like "WTF? You kow I just turned 40, and I'm a man, right?" Ah, never say never: maybe one day I'll read it. By the way, they're filming a Twilight movie in Vancouver right now. OMG!

You wouldn't happen to have some hand grenades at your disposal then, would you? I'm really getting quite annoyed by all that Twilight bullshit that's coursing around here, it just freaks me right the fuck out.

Sounds more like a compliment. I think they were implying that you look young despite your age.

Would indeed be a lovely compliment, if it wasn't referring to you as someone who's young and retarded. But oh well, at least you've got the looks.

Edit: Why the heck did I instinctively use "weren't"?

I agree that twilight needs to stop. Perhaps Ayn Rand should pen the next book. I greatly look forward to a discourse on how these human rules and mores about "sucking blood" are merely a play by the government and socialists to oppress the creative among us and the enterprising people who happen to like blood. Even the term vampire is an anachronism. If people are getting their blood drank, they probably deserve it because they are too weak to stop it. If the government, in all of its cradle to grave nanny statism, were to protect them from one bout of tihrsty vampire attacks, they would just fall to roaming bands of socialist thugs later.

Government interference in blood drinking merely encourages more blood drinking by making vampires thirsty and subsidizing those who would otherwise have hteir blood drank. What we need, in my opinion, is a complete reversal wherein the vampires will simpyl decide when and how much blood they can drink, and the government will not interfere. Why, I ask, would a vampire drink more blood than they could need? No, they would take what they require, and the rest would be equitably distributed by them. Favoritism would not exist because blood is an equally necessary commodity for all.

Perhaps the vampires, by feeding on the lower classes and leftist deviants, would rid society of this problem element, and thus, everyone would be rich, or a vampire, or a rich vampire. Now, this again brings in the question of taxes, and the possibility of transmission of disease through the blood distribution by the vampire ruling class. However, due to a ten percent flat tax rate, disease would no longer be possible after seven and a half years.

The formula for which, currently escapes me, but when there is enough laissez faire economics and vampirism, anything is possible.

You lost me on the taxes. Of course there would be no taxation. The Wealthy, the Vampires, and the Wealthy Vampires would voluntarily pay for certain cherished government services, and the rest would be handled by a state lottery in which the poor and the stupid would happily play. Casinos might also figure prominently.

Gobbler: "weren't" was correct. You instinctively used the subjunctive, which was the thing to do there.
