Madam Corvax-

That really sucks. I feel for you. My mother has been trying to get family and friends over to Canada, from Poland, but it's a not happening. We let in Chinese by the boat loads, but for some reason Europeans have a tougher time getting in. It pisses me off. I think part of the blame is also on Poland. The country is not that big and it's packed with people! Let them leave for fuck sake!!!

My mothers best friend from Lodz is not even allowed to come and visit. They think she'll try and stay or some stupid shit. My father, an archiutect for the goverment, said he would house and support her during the visit. He wrote a letter to the Polish embassy. Didn't fly.

Women should never be allowed to rule the world because Margaret Thatcher.

I don't think people should be allowed to run the world, regardless of gender. We should definately leave it to dolphins, mice, and bagels.

i was going to put this in the news forum, but it makes more sense here (seeing as it will no doubt result in the same arguments):

Motley Crue guitarist sued for $10 million

QUOTE
LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars is being sued for $10 million in palimony by a former girlfriend who has accused him of reneging on a promise to take care of her for life.

i have had girls who promised to love me forever, and emotionally look after me for the rest of my life, only to later dump me so they could fuck one of my friends for while...

did i get a cent in emotional damages?

girls suck, cause break ups seem to work out better for them. when guys get dumped, they get their heart torn out, the usually loose half their possesions, and if married they loose 50-70% of their money.

whereas girls get a nice big payout and the next man they meet ....

Women as a rule are more far sighted than men, since it's biologically necessary for them to be able to think into the future in order to provide for their offspring. In most social animals the females (lions, ants, bees, wolves, etc) tend to run things while the males just pop in occasionally to knock someone up and have a punch up if they feel like it.

Jordan - thanks. It will get better for us now, because we joined EU and people ARE leaving by busloads to England and Sweden, because they can get legal work there. I gather sooner or later some idiot polititians will wake up and learn to treat people with respect.... when there will be no more nurses and doctors in Poland, because all will leave for Sweden

Now, Barend, this is quite interesting in view of our debate. Do you really, I mean really need a girl to emotionally look after you? I understand the "love" part but I am quite baffled with the "look after part". And what exactly did you promise those girls in return? Or was it one-sided transaction?

Are we - girls - to give you unconditional love and support and what do we get in return?

I'm pretty sure the guy gives his unconditional love and support back. At least that's how I've always thought it worked, but I can't profess much knowledge on the subject.

And you can't sue someone for squelching on a promise, that's absurd. If it's not in writing, you can't even prove he said it, and even if he did, it's not grounds for legal action. This is just another statement to prove that greed is universal. Women try to rip off the system too.

'look after' is a term i used to illustrate the parrallels in relationship based promises.

unconditional love and support is ment to be both ways, and has been in most places i've looked. but to suggest that only women are in the protected position to claim compensation in the event of relationship termination is unconcionable.

and further evidence that women are in control in western civilisation. maybe poland is not there yet (in fact it sounds like it's at the other end of the spetrum - which is terrible). however, i am always hearing complaints in countries where women enjoy all the benifits and endure none of the hardships - namley australia - of relationship termination, that they are constantly struggling through a male dominated phalusentric society. and the article i posted was the proof i needed to illustrate that this claim by women is a lie.

so from now on my brothers...

rebel!!! women should ask us out and fear the rath of rejection, they should open doors for us and pay for our meals, they should have to constantly reassure us that OUR asses are not too big, they should have to constanly entertain us and take us places so we don't get bored and leave them, we should constantly berate them with questions like 'are you going to ask for a raise' or statements like 'the problem is that you don't know what the problems is' which they wont know because we didn't tell them even though we'll be constantly telling them that comunication is the most important thing!!! and most importantly one out of every four weeks we'll be psychotic freaks who snap at everything...

girls want role reversals? bring it on... i'm ready.
(and easy)

You know what I'm tired of? I'm tired of the feminist backlash, Oh, women have it so easy, they get all the advantages, the tables have completely turned. FUCK THAT.

I mean it. Oh, you have to ask us out? Well, we have to hear comments about our asses whenever we walk the street. And don't ANYONE try to tell me that really, we should be flattered. Because what is flattering sometimes is oppresive when you can't ever NOT hear it. We should constantly entertain you? We should be so lucky as to drag your asses away from the Xbox for an hour to be "ENTERTAINED." Never mind all the actual serious gender injustices in the United States, never mind the rest of the world. Barend, I love you, but come out of the dark ages!

Listen, all kidding aside, it makes me mad as well when people bitch and moan about maintenance and palimony like it's the end of civilization as we know it. As far as that Motley Crue case goes, well, clearly that takes place in another world where millions of dollars can be bandied about.

But it's an inescapable fact that women are the ones who have the babies, and that is ultimately where this argument ultimately leads. A woman who has a child is required to leave the workforce, even if it's just for a few weeks. A woman who stays home with the children, as I believe the majority of women with children do for some period of time, almost invariably suffers a blow to her career and her earning potential that is unrecoupable. There are precious few careers where you can take a few years, 5, 10, off and just re-enter seamlessly. And THAT is why palimony and alimony exist. A woman who trades her in her earning potential to stay at home has made a serious financial sacrifice, one that is to her families benefit if she remains there. But if she is forced by divorce or widowhood or whatever other sacrifice to re-enter the workforce, she has a gap on her resume and diminished contacts if she were lucky enough to have a career prior. If she didn't, then she enters the workforce with no marketable skills. And she is, 9 times out of ten, screwed. So this woman who kept house for the Motley Crue guy? Well, maybe she is a gold digger, or maybe they did make a good-faith agreement which he isn't honoring. I have no idea. And I admit that the issue is murkier when children aren't involved, as they apparently aren't in this case. But I AM saying that if one person makes personal sacrifices in a relationship resulting in diminished economic prospects, and they made those sacrifices in good faith, then they don't deserve a "hey, tough luck, cookie" when the relationship ends, whether they are a man or a woman.
