RECENT thrashings on the rugby field by Australia and South Africa are forgotten. Last year’s dismal 2-2 football draw with the Faroe Islands is ancient history. Scots this morning once again hold their heads high as sporting champions of the world.
The Duke of Argyll and his elephant polo team flew in to Gatwick from Nepal yesterday morning bearing the Elephant World Cup. Victory in the competition, known as the Tiger Tops Challenge Trophy, was all the sweeter for the Scots having beaten the local favourites National Parks of Nepal in a final that ended in a 12-6 win.
Scotland, a land replete with football pitches, was ranked at an all-time low of 77th in the world league last week. Yet in a country desperately short of elephants and opportunities for training, they have pulled off elephantdom’s richest prize for the second time.

Things you have to respect:
1.)The Duke of Argyll and his disregard for the fact that it's 2004.
2.) The phrase: "elephantdom's richest prize".
3.) Scottish dominance of a sport involving elephants.
Thanks to Chyld for this one!
