You don't, just do what you were told. The door will open eventually.

EDIT: If you want to give an item to the person who lives on the other side: the item in question is flat and there's a wide gap between the door and the floor.

Another wonderful game. I particularly like the new direction the story has taken, there's a genuine sense of development and thought gone into it. Plus the epic Mod's music score give it just the right atmosphere.

Random thought. The Ministy of Occultism was mentioned after the bit at Taylor's flat - isn't that Chris Quinn's organisation? Is it connected to the STP in some way, or was it just a quick nod to it?

I hate to say this but... Im stuck, its the bit right after the pills, the breaking into the office and finding that the safe is empty. What am I missing? Damnit I know its gonna be obviuos.

I will note something, though which while not a drastic bug, might want fixing. In the room with the five tables in the alternate world, you can walk between the two rows, and three vaguely round patches of tablecloth will pass in front of Trilby's legs (two on the left, one on the right).
