I recently bought a copy of S&S on the strength of your review, and I have to point out that you most uncharacteristicly missed a nitpick. During the prison break out there is a big guard sharpening something by pedalling a grinding wheel. The rebels come up behind him and he keeps pedalling. They shove his hand into it, he keeps pedalling, they shove his face into it and still he keeps it spinning. I thought this was rather odd, especially considering the film maker's decision to show very clearly that it was operated by a manual pedal.

Also, during the big prison break, the heroine uses a key to open the first locked cage, but then just opens all the others. And at the end of the film, when Talen and whatsername swing from a banner clearly not made to suport two people, it should be noted too that according to the established architecture of the castle, it's not attached to anything. And of course the business with the arme being bent sometimes and not at others for the whole crucifixion thing, the silly business with the pouring of the oil and the burning of the army, and etc etc; it's an awesomely stupid movie.
Is that stuff mentioned already? I haven't read the Chefelf nitpick.

I know he mentioned the oil and Talon's myraculous ability to wield a sword after getting, ya know, railroad spikes jammed through his hands, but I dont know about the other stuff. I just thought the grinding wheel was possibly the stupidest mistake since they made damn sure you knew it was pedal operated.
