The first article regarding my musical year in review is now up. It's the best albums that I just discovered this year. All older stuff that I did not, for whatever reason, love before 2005. Go see!
Future categories are:
-The most under-rated albums of 2005
-The worst albums of 2005
-The best albums of 2005
-The albums I wanted, but didn't get in 2005
This should carry us right up almost to the end of the year. Enjoy.

No kidding!
I mean there are songs that are worse, only because their intention is to be terrible. My Humps has got to be the worst song, and video in my recent memory anyway. I know some of the lyrics go something like this
Look at my girlie lumps, ya know you want them, but you can't touch them, if you touch them you'll get drama, you don't want no drama...
or something like that. Look but don't touch... okay think I got the principle, so your a tease with bad grammar, and not a good one either. (tease that is)

A friend has struggled to convince me that the picture I posted of Fergie post-pissing herself is just a spectacular amount of crotch sweat, but I refuse to believe it.
But look on the bright side, I've heard rumblings that she's quitting the band, so hopefully we'll see a return to some Bridging The Gap-era BEP.
Anywho, I'm about half done the best albums list, so I should have that posted in the next 24 hours, at the very most.
Good to see you're still kicking around, Hero.

Where is Nine Inch Nails' With Teeth? I'm disappointed at your stance on System of a Down for the record, but I was under the impression that you liked NIN as per I do. Thus I am on spamming duty untill I hear your explaination... Spamming for freedom or die trying!

in their defence, it is a cool sounding, minimalist song, with a minimalist video and minimalist (read: crappy) lyrics.
I don't like what BEP has done with themselves, and my stance with them remain as my views on gwen stafani. stop fighting the machine and look what happens, you loose some integrity but roll in shitloads of money.

^ Agreed.
Actually, it sounds like every other pop/hip hop song that you hear on the radio, which means that it sounds like shit.

Black Eyed Peas can be summed up simply: Fergie ruined them. Listen to Behind the Front, Bridging The Gap and about 1/4 of Elephunk and you have a solid group of artists doing some pretty respectable hip hop. The rest of Elephunk and pretty much all of Monkey Business is complete musical garbage. I mean, what the hell is up with that Dick Dale sample in "Pump It Up"? I'd say next to Puff Daddy/P. Diddy/Diddy/Whatever's use of the Police, that's the most uninteresting and far-too-easily-recognizable sample in hip hop history. Hell even Run DMC reworking Aerosmith at least had some artistic merit behind it to back up the shameless crossover attempt.
Minimalism in hip hop pretty much begins and ends with the Neptunes in this day and age, and they suffer from severe over-exposure. I mean, who haven't they produced in the past five or six years? "My Humps" isn't minimalistic, it's just stupid, unimaginitive, and pathetic.
