A Bush dynasty?

Much as I'd love to make an exception, I don't think an exception can be made. However, I'm thinking people would blow him up before such a horror occured.

I think two heralds of trickle-down economics from the same gene pool are quite enough.
Though half of the population was dumb enough to vote for Dubyah. They would just see Jeb's name on the ballot box and automatically vote for him. Of course, if the pansycrats got their act together and sent Karl Rove into exile for putting the mock in democracy (well, what amount that hasn't already been there since 1776), we'd be much better off.

Maybe there should be a law allowing them to run under a different name and get drastic plastic surgery to alter their appearance so nobody would recognise them. If anyone finds out, they have to do it again. This should hopefully discourage members of the same family from running for president.

Public opinion is (so I hear) against Bush and his war at the moment. I dunno if these recent bombings will change that at all. Whatever the case though, you can bet your ass that Present Bush will be doing all he can to make Jeb Future Bush, and if there's any event or any other tragedy that occurs to somehow grease the way, he'll milk that baby dry. And somehow I just doubt that Future Bush's policies or methods will be terribly different from Present Bush or The Ghost of Bush Past. From what I understand, they really are just an old boy network up there. I'm reminded of my research into Anne Boleyn, reading about 1500s England with the Seymours and the Howards and all. If one family member is on top, it's as good as all of them.

My opinions have remained unchanged. Sure, you could change the law to keep Jeb out, but what then? What if, on a hundred years or so, another family of wannabe-Presidents come along, and actually set out to improve America? Change the law again?
I'm going to have to trust the intelligence of the American people on this one. Which, lets be honest, is like trusting monkeys not to throw shit everywhere.

And would it really affect anything? I mean, it would take quite a long time. Usually it takes a good three of campaigning years for an amendment to be suggested, and then another year for the debates to end. It would take too long. Jeb would already be in office.

I only wish: the terrorists had done something really special and assassinated the Prime Minister while they were at it.
