i just want to say 3 things about the battle of menis terith, or whatever, from return of the king.
first of all, all of the people in menis terith had their trebuchet's ready, but no ammo. it wasn't until after they were bombarded by cannonball fire for several minutes that they fired back. WHAT.
"hey sarge when do we shoot back."
"wait a minute. we gotta let them knock down pieces of the castle so we can use the ammo."
second of all, why were they using big ol chunks of stone. trebuchet's are more effective when you launch several, or hundreds of small rocks. that way it spreads and kills lots of infantry.
third of all, if you watch real closely, one of the chunks defys physics. it was cool to see, but still dumb. you see a huge chunk of castle, go STRAIGHT DOWNWARD IN THE DOWNWARD VERTICAL STRAIGHT DOWNWARD DIRECTION. how. what the hell. it seriously acted as if someone dropped it several feet above they're heads.
if you watch the battle of menis terith closely, you will notice these things too.
