I'm waiting for the DVD. More accurately, I'm waiting for somebody I know to buy the DVD so that I don't have to pay to see it. I've heard very mixed reviews. Most people I know that love the original say the remake stinks, and people I know that aren't fanatical about the original like the remake. I'm more closely affiliated with the first group, so I'm not sure about it.

Seen 'em both.
Ladykillers: No Zombies
Dawn of the Dead: Hundreds of thousands of zombies.
Jesus: One Zombie.
Obviously you see where I'm going with this. Moviemakers have found the secret to a good movie.
The amount of zombies in it.

Booze-fueled paragon of pointless cruelty and wanton sadism.

I'll probably see Dawn of the Dead when they play it on the Sci-Fi channel. I loved the original, and I like zombie flicks alot, but the only modern one I've been impressed with was 28 Days Later. But I quite agree with you films with zombies are awesome. In fact at fine arts camp this summer I wrote an adaptation of the Tempest with zombies in it.
And we want to be free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man! And we want to get loaded!

Dawn of the Dead was a remake, and I must say that it was okay, despite what other people thought about it. You should take into consideration, however, that I've never seen the origional, and that it wasn't scary since the zombies were fast instead of slow. That's really what makes a zombie scary, they're slow and steady, and they never stop.
28 days later was excellent, even though it had fast zombies.
But for the ultimate Zombie movie, see Shawn of the Dead.
