there are several titles that have been deemed a rare status and are sought over feverishly by avid collectors. for whatever reasons, these games are grails cast in gold and owning them is a royalty.
but aside from that, there are some games that arent so rare, (but not so common) that should be duplicated. such games that never got a chance to be enjoyed, and probably never will due to the company who made the game simply not wanting to reissue it.
...and that sucks.
we live in a day in age that every game should be readily accessible, sadly there are some that arent. why is this?
i understand that owning the actual game, in its actual cartridge, complete with manual, etc. spawns value
but im talking about having the same game available on an emulator or other classic compilation available for play. i know that doing this would reduce the overall worth of the rare game in question..but so what...it gives other gamers a chance to experience a game that they would never had the chance to otherwise.
specifically,..i would love to have been able to play Ninja Gaiden Trilogy on SNES.,.but its currently fetching price tags in excess of over $100.00.
.....sigh.
