Love that Civ2.
But, even in the comics, Supes holds back when fighting the baddies. Very rarely does he unleash all of his power on anyone. The only ones that I can think of being Darksied and Mongul. There's actually a great issue of, I think Action Comics, where Supes is fighting Mongul, and Mongul has him in a bear hug and is trying to crush him... Supes looks down at him... his eyes start to burn red... and he softly says, "Burn." And he just hits Mongul with all the heat vision he can muster! Great panel!
The honorable warrior, that's Superman. He never goes overboard unless he has to. And I assume everyone here knows that had SR been truly Superman, he would've felt the Kryptonite from miles away, not minutes after landing on said Kryptonite.
Here's hoping that Singer gets the sack and we get the relaunch I'm demanding.
Later all.

I often find that Superman haters and sometimes just casual folk often bash Superman for having quote "too many powers". My problem, to the extent that I have one here, is not that Superman has many powers but more that it sometimes feels like he doesn't utilize them. I know that he's the archetypical honorable warrior in that sense, holding back because he knows most opponents wouldn't survive if he hit them as hard as he possibly could, but in all my reading of Superman comics and watching Superman in animation and live action film, I get this vibe sometimes that he wins not from any particularly creative use of his many powers but wins simply because he's the strongest son of a bitch alive. I love brute force as much as the next guy, but when you have like 10 different powers at your disposal, you should be more creative in your use of them, whether it's just using the super-breath to blow a big robot off the edge of a building or the aforementioned use of hit-him-in-the-face-with-heat-vision-to-get-out-of-a-bear-hug manuever.
Well that's my two cents on the subject.

So.... has anyone else seen the super crappy covers for the SR DVDs? All the images out there, all the different posters from around the world, and they pick the crappiest things I've seen. So airbrushed, they might as well be cartoons. Ugh... They should've just used the symbol against the blue background, like the teaser poster. Especially for the Special Edition 2-disc set. Ugh. That was the only poster that did anything for me at all to begin with. The simpler, the better.
The standard edition includes nothing... except the movie.. so yeah, nothing.
The 2-disc Special Edition includes a Behind the Scenes Documentary that runs 3+ hours, as well as poster art, artwork, and all the typical trimmings you would assume a SE would have.
So yeah. Hope you're all well. I'm bogged down in Theatre stuff right now so I apologize to my peeps (Aquaman) for not being around too much of late. Later gators.

I hate Superman. I always cheer for his arch-nemesis’s (I realize that’s not a word). Batman would totally kick Superman’s baby blanket wearing ass.

Hey JA. Haven't really been around much myself lately. Things are... slow.

I think I might be one of the few that is not impressed at all with Jim Lee's artwork. For all his attention to detail, his men all have the same faces and his women all have the same faces. Plus he has that same "I can draw cool poses but give you zero sense of motion or fluid storytelling"-problem that McFarlane et al had/have.

I too was a superman Hater but the movie softened me.
I saw Superman/Clark as. . . well
i don't know, just cant come up with anything
deep and meaningful.
I still hate comic book Superman and even
Justice league Superman annoys the heck outta me.
But Smallville Clark Kent is ok.
Weird i know but it is what it is.
As for Bruce, Batman is the ultimate superhero
cuz he wasn't born with gifts like cold breath
but a detectives mind and a quick wit.
Both aces in my book.
Not to mention rugged good looks
and an awesome bod
or was that Christian Bale?
