Anyone else care to share? I think it could be fun to see what skeletons people have in their musical closets.

I have a bunch of silly Christian contemporary music from when I was a kid and not exposed to anything else. What's funny is I still like to listen to it from time to time because most of what I have wasn't overtly Christian, it's fun to sing to, and it's really silly-fun in a nostalgic kind of way.
Then I have some other Christian music that is actually really good; I'd call it better than most secular music of whichever genre it's from (like when I was in my hardcore phase, Christian hardcore was almost always better - it was more musical, and of course you couldn't understand a word they were saying anyway). Skillet, for instance, until they turned into something weird and depressing, was really good fusion regardless of the lyrics. But stuff like that would definitely cause someone to question my musical tastes.
And then there's the fact that I have every David Bowie cd ever. Including ones that no one really knows about. That could probably raise some eyebrows.
Then the rest of my questionable music - most of it I don't even like, but I got it back when I used to like it, or it was a gift, or someone recommended it to me so I got it and it ended up I didn't like it (but I rarely get rid of any music so I still have it.) However, some of it is that I can't help but like it even though I know it's bad (like junk food!):
the first Linkin' Park
Korn - Untouchables or whatever
Hardcore shit, period, no matter what band (I can't even remember the names at this point)
TATU (I can't help it, I have some sort of unexplainable attraction to the fun dance-y pop-ness of it!)
the first 2 BSB, the second NSYNC, the first 98degrees (give me a break, I was 11 )
an abnormal amount of Indie crap that I picked up for 25cents each at a used cd store (I think I found 2 cds that were any good)
an abnormal amount of jazz and classical music
REO Speedwagon
Boston
Journey
WAAAAY too much techno, ew
Bruce Springstein (an old boyfriend got it for me)
!!! (was curious, got it, didn't like it)
Journey Division
Iggy Pop
Billy Idol
HIM
Gym Class Heroes
Orgy (what a stupid name)
Disney soundtracks
video game sountracks
Millencolen
Phantom Planet
Slipknot
Sneaker Pimps
that "Punk Gone Pop" shit
Marilyn Manson
And I can't think of anything else at the moment.
(I have a feeling some people's toes are gonna get stepped on by people listing music they know is crap and someone else doesn't agree. )

What!? Numan is a legend! He revolutionized the idea of electronic music, and made one of the single best new wave albums, period. "The Pleasure Principle" is right up there on my list of the best electronic records ever made. Look him up on AMG or something. The list of people he's influenced is pretty long.
As for you, Spoon... Journey Division? Are you sure you don't mean Joy Division? And if so, what's so wrong with that? Again, they're incredibly influential, and very important in terms of the amount of throw they have in the way that modern rock music has been headed.
I would also have to say that there is NOTHING wrong with ANY David Bowie material, ever. Even his worst albums have had some redeeming value.

Cuz yeah, Joy Division is good stuff.
And yay, David Bowie goodness. I agree that he's got great stuff on every album (even if there's bad stuff, too - PinUps, for example, is way not my favourite album). But still, owning every album screams of obsession.

Really? Some of these are pretty generally well-accepted. Some are downright brilliant. Who would slam Andrew WK? Or Slayer? Or Biggie?
The expurgated list here features bands who released one or two indisputably great albums and then sucked out loud for the rest of their career, so unless you're totally into latter-day Halen or Weezer or whatever i think you're safe with them. feel free to clarify on your reason for including some of them because some of these inclusions confuse me.
and regarding Coheed, embrace your prog side my friend! It ain't half bad on this side of the tracks. Join us as we sit politely listening to acoustic guitars and mystical lyrics and over-played synthesizers!
I'm surprised you didn't mention Madonna. You had some of her stuff right?

uhh, this is a weird topic to respond to. I don't really care what people think of my tastes. I have something on my cd rack for people of all walks of life should they happen to be hanging out in my pad.
BUT i would say my affinity for japanese music of most stripes is kind of weird. Club pop, uptempo anime themesongs/incidental music, stuff like that.
Also, i realized a while ago how liking the music of Nick Drake and other sensitive singer/songwriters can be a bit weird in some environments. Another example: Joanna Newsom.
I like ludicrous guitar virtuoso music like Vai and Satriani. Sometimes their music is puke-inducingly over-emotional. Satch always has some song about love and it usually reeks of cheap sentimentality. I like it better when they make sci-fi-esque music.
Frank Zappa. There's tons of annoying things about the man and his music. At it's best it's great, but he's done s*** that only a retard would deem listenable. But if you call him on it he gets all "How dare you! i'm an artist! Now go away while I write an angry letter to a reputable publication for not publishing my lame article. the nerve of them! Don't they know i have all the answers? the fact that people don't like me is proof positive that everyone has no taste and is dumb." His satire falls flat after the mid-70's. He always complained about how shittily oschestra's performed his work. He should have started with small-scale ensemble pieces and worked his way up.
I forgot my point.
Scorpions. I like them unironically. They're pretty derivative but i dig that style of metal for some reason. I'm referring to "Tokyo Tapes" so if you want to discuss Virgin Killers or any of their albums that aren't 'Tokyo Tapes' you'd best look elsewhere.
Jazz-rock/fusion. like Jean-luc Ponty. What's more reprehensible than electric jazz violin? I dunno. But i love Enigmatic Ocean. Just look at that album title and you'll get an idea of the vibe of his music. But still, great stuff! The musicianship of the band makes up for the corniness. Wouldn't play it at a party though. I am also guilty of listening to, more than once, Al di Meola. Back in the day!
Enjoying 60's West Coast (non-garage) psych bands like the Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe and the Fish, Iron Butterfly, etc probably won't win me points for coolness.

But yeah, Jefferson Airplane wins you negative coolness points. (However I'm guilty of loving "We Built This City on Rock and Roll)

Also, you refer to Jefferson Starship. Totally different animal. Whether that negates your original statement is a matter for the courts.

Also, a "kind of sort of" one for me is Wolfmother. Although I think it's a really solid band that makes great music, everyone I'm aquainted with who has any musical taste at all insists that they suck out loud and I am an idiot for liking them. I will admit that their live shows are fucking terrible, but I still say the studio tracks are fantastic.

No, she refers to just plain ol' Starship. Again, diffrent breed of animal.
Jefferson Airplane get a bad rap because of their loose association with that rollicking trainwreck. People lose sight of the fact that they recorded one of the best and most respectable albums of the US psychedelic era.
And yeah, I should mention Madonna and Kylie. I have the utmost respect for both and enjoy some of their more club-friendly work.

Mary Manson. He's shit, I know and admit that. But still, sometimes, I'm just... I dunno, in the mood. But I don't actually like his music.
And... Well, Depeche Mode. But not a lot, I've just got a couple of songs, and I rarely listen to them, anyway...
And that's about it. It's a good thing I'm rather stubborn about what I listen to, and I'm not ashamed of what I truly like.

We just went down this route with Bowie, no?
Regardless, Depeche Mode is one of the best bands of the 80s, and they released one of the best albums of the 90s.
