The more I read out of the Old Testament the more sickened I become. Look at this page.

Leviticus wasnt the only one who was loonie. There's like thirty things you can do that are punishable by HORRIBLE death. It's not beheading, they demand either stoning with stones or burning with fire. Or burning with stones or stoning with fire.

And many of those things are terribly sexist and look at women as some kind of property. Men are allowed to practice witchcraft, have pre marital sex, and even rape women if they're not engaged (read: owned) but a woman who does that stuff gets stoned with stones. Blargh people really need to start phasing out the old testament.

Dude, you should just realize that pretty much everything in the Old Testimant is loony, and if someone follows it to the letter, they're probably loony too.

I was however, stunned by these:

bullet for careless handling of an animal: Exodus 21:29 states: But if the ox .....hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. If an animal has the habit of injuring others, and the owner does not kill it, then the both the owner and the ox may be put to death.

bullet for working on Saturday: Exodus 35:2 states: ...but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Numbers 15:32-36 described a man who was executed because he gathered wood on Saturday.

A male who was not circumcised: Genesis 17:14
bullet Eating leavened bread during the Feast of Unleavened Bread: Exodus 12:15
bullet Manufacturing anointing oil: Exodus 30:33
bullet Engaging in ritual animal sacrifices other than at the temple: Leviticus 17:1-9
bullet Consuming blood: Leviticus 17:10. This would include eating rare meat.
bullet Eating peace offerings while ritually unclean: Leviticus 7:20
bullet Waiting too long before consuming sacrifices: Leviticus 19:5-8
bullet Sexual activity with a woman who is menstruating: Leviticus 20:18
bullet Going to the temple in an unclean state: Numbers 19:13
bullet Persons teaching another religion: Deuteronomy 13:1-11
bullet A prophet whose prophecy does not come true: Deuteronomy 18:22
bullet Gluttony and excessive drinking: Deuteronomy 21:20

bullet for being excessively curious: In Genesis 19:17, the angels told Lot to: ....Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain.... Lot's wife looked back. God killed her and turned her into a pillar of salt.

I just love how it makes it completely unambiguis. I imagine god first said all this crap and then the people went and started stoning heathens with grape jello and then god was all like "No no, use STONES to stone them! I'm sorry, it's my fault- I should have specified... What? What are you doing? NO! You don't use water to burn women! You're just bathing them at the stake! Use fire, assholes!"

Don't forget YHWH condoning death to all of the "uncircumsized Philistines". That's somewhere in Kings and gave the Israelites an excuse to kill all of the Philistines after David Smote Goliath. But there are four or five other topics for this stuff, why do we need to make a new one every time?
