St. Patrick's Day What's in your bloodstream?

Well, it's Irish appreciation day, or was until two hours ago. How did you spend it? I had quite a few large screwdrivers, watched part of Blazing Saddles, and discovered that no matter how much alcohol I consume, I'm still dull and despise most conversation and would rather be by myself, regadless of the amount of attractive women crammed into one dorm room (We had 3 tonight in my friend's room!). I guess it's not just social anxiety...

I didn't realise it was St Patricks day until too late...again. Why is this day never advertised? Bloody anti-alcohol people...*grumbles*

My friend Sarah was in town from Toronto last weekend, and we went with some old friends out to Granville Street, where they were having the Celtic festival. We walked around a bit and looked at all the trinkets, visited a tatoo shop (we didn't get tatoos), and then went to The Fountainhead for a drink. We drank Sleeman's, a Canadian beer established by an Englishman from Cornwall who had moved to Guelph. With the Cornish roots, I suppose he was part Irish, but I guess we should have been drinking Guinness to meet the occasion.
For those of you from Vancouver, who get the details: no, I'm not gay, but The Fountainhead was out of the way of the whole festival thing, it has a patio that faces south, it was a nice day, and apparently it was 22 below zero that weekend in Toronto.
On St. Pat's itself, I wore a green shirt to work.

I'm not sure if I'm Irish or not. I've never been able to get any straight answers about it, so it's still a "maybe."
As for wearing green, I have green eyes, so I consider myself exempt...the fact that I forgot what day it was has nothing to do with it.

Are not all white people just decendents from the Celts? The pasty hair faced men of the north?
Can't we all just move back to europe and fight with Iron swords and plow the fields?

Sadly not, the nanny states are in preparations to ban all sharp objects, and the farmlands being replaced with londoners second homes at an alarming rate. Rumours persit of a surviving Devonshire farmer up on the moors, but he could just be a literate pirate. Ooorrrrrrr!
Drank too much on St Patricks day, had forge worthy thumping hangover that lasted one hour for every pint of Guiness I consumed, and swore not to touch the evil stuff ever again.
Same as every year.

I was in Spain at the time, so/and I forgot. I was wearing black though! Black is like green, only with the absense of yellow and blue!
