It's the asinine plot development aspect of it...he never does it in the OT, and there's no reason for him not to have, since we see him in a bunch of tight spots where such an ability would come in handy. Then all of a sudden in the PT, he can fly and basically act like a "living" version of Batman's utility belt...what the hell? It's beyond cheesy, and reeks of a filmmaker who has no idea how to advance the story along.
Exactly, it's just like Yoda Fighting, or Palpy Fighting, totally against what we see in the OT and it serves nothing to the story (the core story) besides Lucas own satisfaction
