It looks like it might. I feel The Simpsons is way past it's prime.
exactly. not that the show isnt great or funny. but it was better back in its hey-day. i wonder why fox never decided to release this film earlier on? i feel like it is 10 years too late. but, im glad they did release it, hopefully it wont be cheesy like those flintstones movies.

The Simpsons was way past its prime over seven years ago. I can't imagine this thing being anything other than abysmal. All of the trailers I've seen involve Homer getting beaten up, which means they can't be catering to those who enjoy farce and satire, as least as far as who they are promoting the movie for.
I'm curious to hear reactions from people here, and I do hope it doesn't suck, but I'm not holding my breath.

You guys are going to be Wrong, Ok? Sorry. The writers from way-back all got on-board for this, and it's been in the works for years. They had an unwritten deal that if it wasn't funny it would not be produced.
Yet everybody lines up to say the show has sucked for years- I say "back of the line" then, to see the flick- grumble grumble undeserving malcontents.

Make a good film or make money?
If it was all about the money, they'd have released it on
Or maybe now I'll start criticizing the Pirates movie I thought better of watching.

so, what youre saying is that, they had a pending contract based on a common percieved opinion?
that would be the case, since humor is largely opinion based.
personally, i dont think this film will appeal to a broad mainstream audience. it will only be enjoyable to a cliche fan-based crowd.

The movie's writer's aren't the same crop as the show. I'm not suggesting that if a different writing staff delivered a new PT it would be any better than what we're used to, and I can certainly see where a new Star Wasr film would be lambasted based on experience. So, yeah, I see where you're coming from.
I'll raise my hand in support of this film, and I'll support it with my wallet.
