It looks like Lucas is going to tell his whole story in one film, like the stuff "developed" in the previous two films wasn't necessary to this story. For instance this one series of interactions between two characters is all developed from scratch in this one show, so any complaints that it should have been worked on in the last movie just so it would make sense here appear to be addressed.
A lot of the stuff with real people in it looked pretty nice, but the cgi was distracting here and there. I would have preferred models, etc, the usual complaint, but I think the technology is there to do this thing, even if this thing is not worth doing.
The trailer didn't floor me, but it didn't have too much in it that upset me either. Without TPM in my memory and tales of AOTC on the wire, I would have said it looked like an ok summer movie, and that I was reserving my judgement. So jariten, you can take that as high praise.

SIN CITY is great; it's like watching the comic book come to life. If you didn't like the comic, stay away, of course, since it's dirty and misogynistic and violent as hell, and Frank Miller seems to have gleaned from film noir only the aesthetic and not the philosophy. That said, again: it's great.
I also saw trailers for ODDBOY, which looked odd, boy, and DOMINO, which looked kinda suck. Also some other things, but who cares.

In the PT you have evil triumphing in a third movie that is superior to its predecessors.
That said however I have to say that it pisses me off that the good guys won in both ep1 and ep2. That dosn't make much sense at all.

I thought it was genius to cast Elijah Wood as Kevin But misogynistic? Really? I always thought Millers women were quite diverse in their characterization, well, at least within Sin Citys framework. A Dame To Kill For and Blue Eyes yeah sure, but there are many others. Very much looking forward to it anyway!

(You know, suddenly I feel stupid using terms like "the dark side." The OT was kind of cool.)
But if you want to go, give in. You're not going to lose your soul or anything.
Make you a deal. If you do see it, I'll wear a Jar Jar t-shirt.

Frank Miller: His women are all victims. Even the ones who sport guns are victims. He even turned Catwoman intoa prostitute, and had the Joker beat her up in Dark Knight. This isn't really the spirit of film noir. That aside, I like the stuff, and loved the movie: I'm just saying if you didn't like the comics, sure as hell avoid the movie.

His women are all victims? You couldn't be more wrong Civ. Elektra, Martha Washington, Catgirl. Sin City: Ava, Gail, not to mention Miho! She's the most dangerous individual, male or female, in Sin City and certainly not a victim. I do agree with the Catwoman thing in Dark Knight though, it was out of character for Selina. You should brush up on your Frank Miller.

Miho is dangerous, sure, so a cypher. Everyone else in that posse is equally dull, supporting characters in a story that's not as good as the others in the series. Also, I think gun-toting hookers are not as liberated and strong as some others do. Sue me.
Martha Washington, Batgirl (Carrie Kelly): there you have me. The former a well-drawn Horatio Alger equal to any of his men, the latter a strong supporting member, and not drawn for T&A. I hated the Dark Knight followup, but Batgirl is great in the original, a reminder of hope in Miller's typically systopian future.
I knew people would be more interested in the SIN CITY comment than in the ROTS trailer, even in the STAR WARS forum. This is typical of our collective interest in STAR WARS.
Yes, I thought the trailer for DOMINO looked pretty bad, if stylish and sexy. I forgit to mntion I also saw the full trailer for THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. I think it looks ok, except: I don't like Marvin, and I don't like the Voice for the Book. Marvin, whatever, but the Book! Damn. That's important.

How about the audience's response? There's that moment of silence between the trailers which is often revealing.
Better than the last? Even Better.

Elektra was drawn into becoming an assasin due to the death of her mother, and later her father. I did not find her resurrection a "cheap ratings grab" at all, that was her real shot at redemption. After her redemption, her future was left to the readers imagination. Was the mountain climb to heaven (her being dead permanently)? Or to Sticks old hideout? All of that was Miller. Her later adventures is about some other girl (not Miller and they suck). Besides did you ever read Elektra: Assasin (Miller/Sienkiewicz)? Try calling her a victim or failure! (My God Civ! ) after that...
Ava and Miho are not hookers. Gail is a dominatrix I believe.
Glad we agree on some points, your descriptions of Washington and Catgirl are spot on. And yes that's Catgirl (Carrie Kelly). Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) is not featured in Millers work. (The Simpsons comic book guy strikes again!)
You're right about the interest in Sin City ahead of RotS. A Miller thread? I'm there!
