I like a few of the Locust's side projects. Generally speaking, if Justin Pearson is in it, I like that band. So Holy Molar, Some Girls, Head Wound City (which is just generally an amazing band with or without Pearson), Ground Unicorn Horn, The Crimson Curse, Swing Kids, etc...

You've gotta at least check out the new album

No one.
I've seen Dillinger twice, and when they went on after BTBAM, even they seemed dull by comparison. Hella just destroyed that show.

But anyway, my favourite album by them is "Hold Your Horse Is". I'm telling you now that when you hear this band, even if you don't like the music, you'll be blown away by Zach Hill's drumming. If you're as into his drums as I am, you'll want to check out the following as well:
Marnie Stern - "In Advance Of The Broken Arm"
Zach Hill & Mick Barr - "Shred Earthship"
Holy Smokes - "Talk To Your Kids About Gangs"
Team Sleep - "Team Sleep"
Nervous Cop - "Nervous Cop"
Friend/Enemy - "10 Songs"
Flössin - "Lead Singer"
Damsel - "Distressed"
Goon Moon - "Licker's Last Leg"

And OH MY GOD.
I love them. They remind me of an insane(er) Fall Of Troy.

Glad you liked "...666...". It seems to be really iffy with a lot of fans, and isn't really getting the respect that it deserves, sadly.

Foo Fighters - "The Colour And The Shape"
great album. some of the best foo fighters' albums were the earlier ones, especially when pat smear was with the band.
ive always thought foo fighters were better than nirvana anyways.

Which, I guess, is why I shouldn't ever take any sort of musical recommendation from you. Dave Grohl's songwriting is some of the most mediocre I've ever encountered. The Colour And The Shape is a fluke in their discography in that it's not the only one of their albums that isn't downright bland. Their first album was an interesting departure from the direction that Nirvana had started heading into when it was recorded, Colour is a fundamentally great power pop album, and everything since then has been merely trying to replicate Colour's winning formula. And, of course, their last album was a cluttered, unfocused mess.

i almost thought you were trying to make a valid point on something i said, until i noticed you had completely disregarded and "steamrolled" right past something i had said:

If you read that correctly, you can see that i am pretty much in accord with you regarding your opinions of the Foo Fighters having great music until after "The Colour and the Shape". Their first two albums are the best, sorry if i didnt make that clear in my earlier post.

but which band's lead singer is still alive, and which one decided to commit suicide and walk the long slow road with the reaper?

What the fuck does that have to do with each band's respective output? By that logic, Nickelback is a better band than The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Ramones, Alice In Chains, The Clash, and god knows how many other great artists. Kurt Cobain's suicide has nothing to do with the quality of music that he wrote and performed, which is much stronger and more consistent than anything that Foo Fighters have managed to produce thus far.

Top 5 favorite BANDS/artists who i couldn't live without (relatively easier than particular albums)
1. Sonic Youth
2. John Zorn
3. Pavement
4. The Who
5. Neil Young
(note: 1-4 i don't see going anywhere but 5 is constantly changing)
(off the top of my effin' head) if i could only listen to 10 albums for as long as i lived, having already heard a decent number of LP's for someone my age... i'll try to choose the ones that i would absolutely miss:
1. the Who - Live at leeds
2. the Beatles - the White Album (expurgated version)
3. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (or Agharta)
4. Derek & the Dominoes - Layla and other Assorted Love Songs
5. Sonic Youth - Confusion is Sex
6. Brain Eno - Another Green World
7. Steely Dan - Can't Buy a thrill
8. Destroyer - Destroyers Rubies
9. Pink Floyd - Animals (or Meddle)
10. Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
---
11. Daft punk - Discovery
12. Matthew Friedberger - Winter Women
13. Neil Young - Tonight's the Night
14. Bill Evans trio - Live at Montreux '68 (or the comp. "Peace Piece")
15. Glenn Branca - the Ascension
16. The Move - Off the Record With... (hits collection)
17. Deerhoof - the Runner's Four
18. Broken Social Scene - you Forgot it in People
19. Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup
20. Pavement - Wowee Zowee
hehe, we'll see how those recent additions stack up in a few months.
NOTE: i'd take Let It Be over The White Album if i could replace two of the crappy songs and replace them with "Don't Let Me Down" and "ballad of John and Yoko"
