Hmm. Maybe I'll improve my Valve tool skills during summer. I got a lot of ideas for a remake and a side adventure (I guess you can call that fan-fiction...3-D) if I ever stick to them for long. I don't usually like my own false promises.
The source engine isn't exactly made for puzzle games like the Trilby adventures. Not everyone wants to use the 'E' use key to pick or take stuff all the time. Some want the puzzles or actions to have the use of the mouse buttons. Some may want jumping puzzles. Some just want to stack up stuff.
I'm trying to imagine how different the atmosphere would be if Trilby talked in first person or there was some cutscene with him interacting/talking to/with objects/characters. Not so many FPS characters speak in their first person view mode.
I would've just given him his umbrella and a modified version of the TF2's handgun.
