Lamest VG Character? Why? WHY?

Why do so many games have such lame characters now? A lot of them are becoming blonde... and whiney, don't you think?
what do you think is the purpose of these characters? Is there even a purpose?
I personally don't REALLY like them, but their annoying and quirky character-types kind of get me interested in them... well, except for Rose. Whiney b$%$h.
Auron, Squall or Kite on the other hand...

I’m just glad that Tidus was on this list. The reason FF10 is worse than FF8 is the voice acting -- at least I didn’t have to listen to FF8.

Tidus killed the role of a main character in an RPG. Not only did he make the stereotype of spiky blonde hair a little worse, but he sucked in every aspect. Look at the older main characters, like Crono, Cecil and Ramza. No one remembers those days of the wicked fine main character.

voice acting can be a good or bad thing.
In FF10’s case, it’s cruel and unusual punishment.

I voted for "other". Apparently none of you have ever played Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. In this game Yoshi has to transport a baby Mario around and every time he gets hit Mario begins crying like a baby.
Mario is the most annoying character in this game. Every three seconds he begins crying and you have to chase after him. The crying noise alone will drive you to drink.

That was horrible, but when I think of bad characters, I usually think along the lines of RPGs.

True that. That rom didn't last very long on my hard drive..
Cecil... I remember him! I agree though, whatever happened to the spoony bard?
Not all the voice actors in 10 were bad... were they? WERE THEY?

That game is so mind-bogglingly frustrating. It's actually quite a challenge. I got pretty far in it this summer. I hated it the whole time but it was like a personal goal to beat it after I had beaten Super Mario Bros. 1, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels (The Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2) and Super Mario World.

Tidus creeps me out. He is such a faggy little ponce.
And that sports game in FF10, Blitz ball. The controls and logistics of that game are such a headache. And you cannot even name the characters that was a huge let down. My favorite thing about the older FF's is how you could give them humorous names.

I don't understand how Tidus can be a superstar for the Zanarkand Abes, and score all sorts of things, but right when he goes 1000 years into the future....
