Maybe. tongue.gif

I haven't seen the new favicon yet. Still the same lame old lowercase g.

Yeah, and those have been the same four colours of the eBay logo since it started. But yeah, so what?

Maybe you'll see it if you refresh it directly.

I'll start worrying as soon as eBay becomes bent on shoving their four colors into a window-like square.

I think the move from uppercase G to lowercase g was dumb and unnecessary. The Windowsesque one seems unnecessary too.

It looks a little 2000 to me.

Yeah... seriously... the only people that really should care are the marketing departments since this is what their jobs are suppose to be about...

It's not like anyone is going to stop using Google, or they're going to lose ad revenue because of their favicon. Sure they probably won't let the same guy design their next one, but I have my doubts that anyone is getting fired over a 16x16 pixel square that appears near the top of one's browser.

I've seen weirder things happen. Albeit only that small, it is seen billions of times a day, so it is an important factor for brand recognition.

... and this is where the genius thought of it comes into play, because now Google influences people to associate this shape with its own brand, trying to gradually push Microsoft and others out of their minds.

If that's the case, I welcome it. The push to further open-source implementation is a good one.

No, you see, they're the ones you really need to be scared of. Watch out for Sesame Street too.
