Remember Emu's face, people; one day it's going to be on the news alongside a headline about blowing some landmark to smithereens, and then we can all sigh and say, "She was such a normal person".....
....We'd be lying though.

m0ds, thanks for being calm and friendly about it, unlike some of the more vitriolic posters below. As it happens, Wikipedia deletion process is outlined at the aptly titled http://en.wikipedia....eletion_process page. Some key points you might find interesting:
1. It doesn't take an admin to nominate an article for deletion. When I say that I can delete pages, it means I can physically remove them, but I can only do this when I have a consensus to delete. In other words, my powers are limited to the will of the community. So in this case my status as admin is irrelevant; I was acting as a simple editor, not as a user with admin powers.
2. Wikipedia has notability requirements. See http://en.wikipedia....edia:Notability. Generally, not everything is a good subject for an encyclopedia article. Because it follows the consensus system, notability is often determined by votes, such as those I've started for adventure game articles and such. (If you're curious, in the interest of transparency I maintain a list of articles I've nominated to delete and their results at http://en.wikipedia....drevan/Deletion.)
EDIT: Anyone checked out this guy's webcomic yet? I know we're not supposed to personally attack him, but this deserves a huuuge LOL, as he seems very proud of all that shitheap he makes.
EDIT No. 2: Does anyone else think that people who say shit like "I am an administrator (meaning I can block users and delete pages) on several Wikis" should NOT be administrators (meaning they can block users and delete pages) on several Wikis?
David-kyo, I don't know you, and you don't know me. Therefore I think it's quite impolite (to employ the excellent technique of understatement) that you would be so unkind (again, understatement). However, even though you're being a bit of a jerk, I'll address your legitimate points. Firstly, as I've stated above, my status as an admin plays no part in this deletion debacle. Secondly, I don't really know what my experimental webcomic and other projects have to do with this deletion issue, but I don't really understand the problem with showing them on my personal web page. I enjoy making them and I enjoy having my friends, etc. read them. Obviously I don't have a fan base or anything like that, but that's why my projects are hobbies, not careers. And, speaking of careers, I'm a 17 year old high school senior....
Honestly, just a minute ago you were saying that you "know we're not supposed to personally attack him." This must be some strange definition of the phrase "personal attack" I wasn't previously aware of.
Deepsycher, as I've said above, anyone can nominate pages for deletion. Wikipedia's not a democracy or a dictatorship, it's an encyclopedia, but it does allow for any users to nominate pages for deletion. I merely execute the will of the consensus-building users. As for my reasoning for nominating to begin with, Wikipedia has notability policies, such as the WP:BIO policy for biographies of real people. I did not make these policies, I was merely following them in my deletion nominations.
I don't really see how my actions can be classified as such.
Irrelevant, but I'll address it anyway. It was my first time doing stand-up comedy, I'm 17 years old and a high school student, and it was an open mic night with many worse comedians. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?
Any reason Wikipedia is doing all this now?
I'd need to see specific information on this case to comment. However, as far as the general is concerned, Wikipedia notability policies are not new. Non-notable articles are supposed to be deleted, and this is a very old and well-established process (which I did not play a role in creating). See the links I've posted above.
Anyway, I think that's about it. If anyone has any questions to ask, I much prefer direct communication to this behind the back name calling stuff. I'm reachable by email, AIM, Wikipedia itself, etc. I'm basically a nice guy despite what you seem to think, so at least give me the benefit of the doubt... I'm sure I can explain anything you feel is inappropriate. I know I don't really have to defend myself, but I feel like you've all got the wrong idea.

No matter how factually wrong a person is when they say yo' momma is fat, you don't start bringing out family photos and graphs showing the fluctuation in momma fatness over the last financial year. This is what twats do. What you do, is you call that person a fuckwit. Instantly you have the upper hand.
Oh, sorry, I was miles away. What was that?

To me it did appear like dictatorship on a rampage at first when I read through and with the suggestion about the administration thing perhaps by how it was worded on your site. Now that you have justified the situation I no longer hold the perspective of fading. I know it is the wrong thread but I have some questions regarding that wooden Facade radio case. Would you be nice enough to answer them directly?

I thought a rational, reasonable discussion would be welcomed, but maybe not? In that case, you guys are fuckwits.
Not sure if you're joking or not, but I'd be glad to answer any such questions.

See, now we're getting along. We're all on the same level. My turn.

Blahblahblah. In the deletion issue you've said some vague shit about Yahtzee's stuff not having gotten enough hits, whereas your own stuff got even less, and it was still up, so that's what originally pissed me off. Hypocrisy usually pisses me off.
And I'm a 21 year old university student and I also teach and interpret, the latter of which will hopefully be my career. What the hell has that got to do with this debate?
Too tired to come up with any more stuff to say to you right now, so just read my avatar for future instructions.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and I uphold my right to take the piss out of everything that's on the internet for all to see, whether it is your webcomic-wannabe or the latest Paris Hilton travesty. So there. If you can't stand critique, then get the thing off, or if it's only our opinion of it that burns holes in your fragile little soul (because apparently everyone else is sucking up to you), then don't frequent these forums, remain in blissful ignorance of its direness.

Wow, your skills of wit never cease to amaze, Andy.
The fact you hunted us down here to plead your case does indeed make you sad.

Actually, I do want to have a reasonable discussion, since looks like I'm the only one who thinks you're not a sick bastard (don't kill me yet, people, keep reading). Maybe I'm being naive, but I really intend to finish this in a pacific way.
For what I've understood of what you have said, you plead innocence for being an officer of Wikipedia, accomplishing orders.
Let's see:
Well, I assume you did not begin this whole mess. The problem is that everyone here think it was you. Anyway, I think we all would love if you give us the list of name users/IPs who nominated Yahtzee's pages for deletion and how much they asked for it.
There is no reason for us to be enemies, Mr. Andervan*. I'm pretty sure that a webmaster like you would find it useful to have people (a lot of people) with internet acess on your side. And I think Yahtzee would also find it useful to have an Wikipedia admin on his side.
