Well, this is certainly interesting...

Quote

Whatever you think of the prequel Star Wars films, there's no denying their immense cultural impact; the sheer scale of the fame attained by all the Star Wars characters. But behind it all, there are real people, and whilst you may have your opinions about pod racing (and whether something is or isn't pod racing) or the infamous 'yippeee!', there's something quite arresting about the thought about what happened to the little boy who was 'little orphan Ani'. What's he been up to? What's he doing now? What does he look like all grown up?

Well, we have the interview that answers those questions.

Recently, Jake Lloyd came out to Australia as a guest of Supanova, and we had a chat to him, face to face. This is one of the most fascinating psychological profiles of what happens when you go back to school after being in the most anticipated film of all time.

Well, he settled into it ok. I wondered about him, because apparently he was a real douche right after Phantom Menace. Now he's a bit cooler than Wil Wheaton. I guess he grew up.

When did Wil Wheaton become a unit of 'cool' measurment?

Is he 1.5 wheatons or a whole 2?

Just now. The comparison between two child actors made him inspiration for the Wil Wheaton scale.

1.75 I think. Let's wait until he's out of film school. If he creates douchebaggy movies, or comes up with a douchebaggy excuse for not making movies at all, he may drop to a 0.9.

What ever happened to Will Wheaton anyway? Never saw him again after TNG. Not that I'm complaining.

Wil Wheaton has been mostly preoccupied with voice acting jobs
for video games and cartoon tv series

But this is about Jake.
I think (especially after seeing that video)
that im ready to forget my dislike of Mr. Lloyd.

Perhaps i have judged him too harshly in the past, far too harshly.
I never thought of him having to go through school with the weight of the TPM on his shoulders
All the blame and endless teasing must have been excruciating

And to learn that ultimately even though TPM is my least favourite
and least watched of the SW films, i have seen it more times than Jake ever will.
Which in its own way is very sad

and it holds everything together

Well, I kinda feel for him. How old was he when they did TPM? 9 or 10 years? When thinking back he propably would never ever want to be engaged in a project like that anymore again. I know I wouldnt.
