I like my copies of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie 1&2. I used to have a recordable cassette with Flight of Dragons on it, but that was lost or killed by me. curses. I also like the Song Remains the Same. Everyone says it sucks, but i've seen the new Zep DVD and tSRtS is the best i've heard up to that time in the Zep's life.

Jacki Chan's Drunken Master. I have it on Beta though.
That is a great movie. The sequel is pretty great too. Probably the best fight scenes I've ever seen in a martial arts movie, particularly the fight underneath the building with all the beams.

Is that the one with the outtake of him getting crushed by one of the beams or something? And where he has to practically crawl over those hot coals? either way, both the first and second are beyond awesome.

I saw DRUNKEN MASTER II at the Vancouver International Film Festival the day Jackie Chan broke his leg doing a water stunt for RUMBLE IN THE BRONX. That very day, he broke his leg. Nevertheless, he was there at the screening, signing autographs and taking questions, telling the largely Chinese audience that the films he made in China would always be his favorites. He said the action in the Chinese films was better (definitely true), they took less time to film and he has such a larger audience in Asia than he does in North America. I took this to be a sign that he was likely to do more films in China in the years to come, and for about 15 minutes it looked like that might be so. But he turned around after RUCH HOUR was such a success and he learned the formula necssary for American success: goofy American sidekick.
My favorite movie that I still have on VHS is Woodie Allen's MANHATTAN. I also have it on laserdisc, but since I never bother to watch laserdidcs anymore (some sort of mental block I have about old technology), I'll still buy it on DVD one day.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

Waiting for Guffman; taped from tv couple of years ago. prior to that I'd rented it at least 8 times, and will get the dvd. The musical portion is terrific, and the music is as good as the lyrics. the orchestra scenes alone are a scream, but there's so much more. Anything Christopher Guest and Co. do is a classic in the waiting.
