The assumption you accused me of having made, that there are a great many "little people" out there who would have been suitable for the roles of the hobbits. I said "I'm sure there are..." making alowances for the fact that there aren't any with a significant body of film experience. I went as far as to say that they could have filled the roles just fine, without necessarily makijg the series any better than it is. You followed with "big assumption there," like it was no longer a thing you considered possible.
Your newfound skepticism has convinced me. I am now as certain as you are that there are no little people out there who could have played the Hobbits, and that, technical difficulties aside, Jackson's decision to employ digital trickery was the best decision that could have been made, to make the film possible.
