So, other than Strangelove, I'd say that there's one DEFINITE movie they shouldn't remake.
Airplane. They shouldn't remake Airplane.
Or the original Star Wars trilogy.
What do you guys think?
PM me, we'll talk.

Romero's original "Dead" trilogy (OH WAIT. THEY ALREADY DID, AND THEY ALL FUCKED UP)
The Evil Dead trilogy
The Exorcist
The Changeling
Poltergeist
Gremlins (Though a potential remake with "extreme" gremlins that skateboard and swill Mountain Dew would be hilarious)
Akira
On that topic, movies that were remade, that should have been left alone:
Night Of The Living Dead
Dawn Of The Dead
The Amityville Horror
The House On Haunted Hill
The Haunting
The Poseidon Adventure
Black Christmas
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Psycho
The Fog
Get Carter
The Italian Job (Though to be fair, neither is very good)
Yeah I guess you can tell that I hold horror movies very close.

Raising Arizona doesn't need to be remade.
My favorite movies, however, have some flaws that might need to be taken care of, although this could probably be done with edit.
I know I'll think of something else...
Back to the Future does not need to be remade.
-John Carpenter's They Live
"God help us...in the future."
-Plan 9 from Outer Space

Out of all the Bond movies, You Only Live Twice is the only one I would even consider seriously remaking. That thing was so far removed from the original Fleming story, you could have substituted Harry Palmer for Bond and nothing would have changed!

Actually I would like to see a remake of "Metropolis" or any of those silent German films, but I don't have enough faith in modern day Hollywood for it to be good. Unless of course it was directed Guillermo Del Toro.
Ah, Harry Palmer... have you seen all 3 of those? I've only seen "The Ipcress File" and "Funeral In Berlin".
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

As for Metropolis: yes, I fancied a remake myself, as well, but I've always seen Ewan McGregor as Freder. I don't know why.
Also, I can imagine inserting a subplot in which Freder finds out that he is actually Rotwang's son, instead of Joh Frederson's, but I fear that would be too derivative of Star Wars.

I wouldn't remake GOODFELLAS, THE GODFATHER, CITIZEN KANE, THE MALTESE FALCON, CHINATOWN, BLADE RUNNER, BRAZIL, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA or THIS IS SPINAL TAP.

Absolutely no horror movie needs to be remade, especially by people with the last name of Zombie. Isn't that a little bit overkill to begin with (sorry, no pun intended.)

Aww, really? I liked the older one a lot.
Agreed. That movie must always be left untouched.
Everyone else already mentioned movies I was was going to say, and movies I never wanted remade were remade anyways.
...Totally outraged they're making a Chipmunks movie.
