No. I've made some mini-adventure games in KNP that worked Ok, but I understand it's a completly different kettle of fish compared to AGS.
I have considered the possibility that we're in the deep end a bit. However, this isn't an idea Ive literally popped out of the air - I've been working at the idea for over a year now.
Y'see I was gonna make it in KNP, because when its used properly it can do amazing things (like the Monkey Island 2 remake on the Fangames website I'm on). Having seen what can be done in AGS, I realised it was much easier to use for my purposes.
I do understand what you're saying Yahtzee. Both Red Dwarf and the Star Wars games are pretty ambitious. But I and my partner have a very good idea what does and doesn't make a good adventure game. And we're willing to pull as much effort and as much time into it to make sure they're as fun and satisfying to play as possible.
If it'll help convince ya we're on the level, I could post a Jpeg of a Red Dwarf background. It's a certain McDonalds on Mimas...
