However, none of the characters I've conversed with have had anything in common with me. Not sure whether that's a bug or just my crappy character creation.

I swapped the inventory signal (the Event item) for a variable, since the inventory signal method was proving more trouble than it was worth. It may also have been preventing events from happening (ie away mission announcements). For testing purposes, know this: if an event is assigned to a day, then the event will always take place at 5am. For example, the warning about an intelligence leak occurs at 5am on May 10th.
When you converse with someone, your physical status is assessed. If you're hungry and tired, or if your hygiene is low, the conversation will generally not go well. Other factors taken into account vary from character to character. Wendy, for instance, is more attracted to high fitness levels. The Captain will be influenced by high scores in nearly every stat.

Here are a few minor bugs I spotted in the latest version (v1.3.1):
* After reading in my room, I still get stuck in the reading animation. (This only happens if I play as a female. When I play as a guy there is no problem returning to the regular walking animation.)
* I was in the brig on the due date of my library book, and I didn't get a message/fine for it.
* Also, when in the brig on May 10, I didn't receive the message about the security leak. (Doreen still came and got me out a few days later.)
* If I invite a character to the restaurant/cinema and they refuse, I still cannot interact with them again for the rest of the day. (They say something like "Greetings!" or "Hi, crewman.")
* On the lowest level of the engineering section, I can only walk by clicking on the walkable part of the floor. (The character doesn't move if I click on the walls or off the picture.)

I've also spotted a couple of small details that may not be worth fixing. After you use a jobclocker or something else that changes the screen, when you go back, you're not in the same place you started. In the labs, you jump back to the door after you work. On the 2nd level on the engineering deck, the character goes to the middle of the 1st level after working.
Also, when you invite Gloria somewhere while she's working, rather than standing by the door with you when it tells you how much the date costs, she stays behind her desk.

* After reading in my room, I still get stuck in the reading animation.
Should hopefully be fixed now. There was another instance of inventory signalling I have now replaced.
* I was in the brig on the due date of my library book, and I didn't get a message/fine for it.
Events and library fines now occur while in the brig. Originally my thinking was that events not occuring would be part of the punishment - being isolated from ship functions and all that - but on reflection it makes more sense this way. Oh, and if you're in the brig on the day of an away mission, you won't be allowed to go.
* If I invite a character to the restaurant/cinema and they refuse, I still cannot interact with them again for the rest of the day. (They say something like "Greetings!" or "Hi, crewman.")
Fixed.
Most of the other little things you all mentioned I'm not too bothered about, since they either occur due to (a) unknown factors or ( as a necessary measure to get around an earlier bug (eg appearing elsewhere after using a jobclocker).

Ok, dunno if this is a bug but everytime I borrow a library book, I get deducted 3 credits, not a biggy but annoying as I am the kind of obsesive cumpulsive duche bag who needs everything to end in zero.

Onto the game however, my first niggle is with the food, do we have to see the walking to the bar animation everytime you buy food? I'm so impatient...
No other real niggles so far...just having fun exploring...

By the way, doesn't it seem like the amusement stat should go up after the "gee whiz was it fun" message?
No, that's not a bug. Wouldn't it make more sense to talk for longer when you're really getting on with someone? Spacker.
Your second point is valid, though.

You see, the message explicitly says you chat for 15 minutes. It doesn't say you chat for 15 minutes, then feel you really hit it off, then chat for 5 more minutes. It says that in retrospect of a 15-minute chat, you think some good came of it.
The clock, however, explicitly advances 20 minutes, not 15.

Talk about life imitating art, in my quest for a consistent root every night, I had neglected to explorer the station...Today I discovered the Library and Gym...how about that?
Some questions, is there any use for the Tool Kit? What kind of criminal and immoral acts can I perform, with my new low Morals rating?
Also, if I was to become best friends with the Captain, and say, I was working in MedSci...would this help me at all? Can I change careers?
I'm interested to hear what kind of avenues people have taken....
Oh and Happy New Year everyone, and thanks for such a fun game, Yahtzee!
