You didn't like one thing?
Did you realize the movie you went to see was called "Star Wars", and is mostly about space battles and lightsaber duels, not a script that could rival "Fight Club".
The fact that you didn't like anything about the movie makes me sick to my stomach.

Here's the only thing I'm going to disagree with you about JYAMG. You didn't find the opening sequence incredibly tedious? Not even silly, but just tedious and boring. I would think you of all people would hate that sequence.
Interestingly, my main problem in the movie is the action. Amazingly, I felt this movie was driven by the dialgue, the performances, and the atmosphere, and the action was almost something that Lucas had to do since it was a Star Wars movie and people expected it. The Anakin/Obi-Wan and Yoda/Sidious duels were both very good, but most of the other action sequences (this does not include Order 66 or any of those types of scenes, since those are more dramatic than action) ranged from above-average to extremely boring, wtih nothing really standing out as a great action sequence. The dialogue scenes, I thought, were so good that I was really annoyed whenever they were interrupted by an action sequence.
My main nitpick is that Anakin converts too easily, but that was something that the other 2 movies failed at and that we couldn't spend too much time on through Episode III if we wanted a 2 hr 20 min picture. I could suspend disbelief and it wasn't that bad (and the scene where Anakin walks into the Neimoidians is fabulous, he walks in, there is silence, and then he shuts the door as a really scary version of the Imperial March plays), but I wish it had been developed more.
I'm not sure where I would rank this amongst the originals. You are right, JYAMG, that it certainly is more daring than ROTJ, but I'm not sure if it was more entertaining. Same goes for the other 2. It is just a completely different movie, and it's hard to compare to a trilogy where even the "darkest" one seems like a light space opera compared to this one.
I actually thought it meshed into the originals quite well, just in terms of story, since obviously it looks completely different. And I liked Vader's scene, since he keeps the aspects of Christensen while still having that powerful James Earl Jones voice. It was good that they realized he wouldn't just suddenly turn into a fearsome, powerful creature after losing his limbs and being burned alive, that he was still just a confused young man. I could overlook the No!
Also, the only thing here that almost makes me like the other prequels more is Mace Windu. We all said how he wasn't that likeable, didn't do much of anything, and in this one he's more of an asshole to Anakin than ever, so we really understand the conflict Anakin's having. Sure, Windu stands for good and Palps for evil, but Palps was so nice to Anakin and Windu was such a stern, mean, distrustful guy. I have to think if Yoda had been about to kill Sidious, Anakin wouldn't have turned, because Yoda always tried to be understanding. It's all set up so that we almost sympathize with Anakin's choice.
I'm going to see it again tomorrow, I'll see if I notice anything else, or if it is much less enjoyable with multiple viewings, as the previous two have been. But all-in-all, a great film with some forgiveable flaws.
Oh and Madam, there obviously is 1 thing you liked, since even in movies I despise I like at least 1 thing. Seeing Leia being brought to Alderaan with her theme in the background or Luke to Tatooine with his theme didn't bring a smile to your face? Order 66 evoked no emotion? The intercutting of Vader's birth and Padme's death did nothing for you? Anakin's "immolation" as John Williams calls it? Yoda killing the 2 clone troopers didn't at least make you think it was cool? You didn't think Palpatine talking to Anakin in the opera was a good scene? I mean, nothing did anything for you?

Oooh, I am soooo sad....
I think I am going to die because I lost the will to live because I saw your post.
Vwing, no, I wrote that I liked one thing, that there was little appearance of 3PO....
The Tatooine sequence was Harry Potter, I kalf expected a broomstick somewhere, or Hagrid's Motorbike.
Even the binary sunset was screwed, and I thought you could not screwed at least that. There were clouds! It was like the view from my kitchen window on a cloudy May day. Was it necessary to add all these mackerel skies?? IT really made me sick.
Opera? And pray, were thay playing Tosca or what? Nononono, no speeches, no lilightsabre duels, no agonising looks across empty spaces. Honestly. I had to detox myself with a few ESB sequences

I actually liked many aspects of the film. Here's my top ten list:
Numder 10) No Jar-Jar Binks and the Oola-la's dance number
Number 9) It is the last one
Number 8) all the copies could burn potentially
Number 7) Obi-Wan did not have a sex change
Number 6) R2-D2 didn't transform into a karate robot to aid in the final duel
Number 5) Jimmy Smits didn't turn into Ellen Barkin halfway through the "film"
Number 4) The wookies weren't bald
Number 3) It ended
Number 2) Yoda didn't run away like a chump (ooo....wait a second....)
And the number One most likeable aspect of ROTS is:
The Millenium Falcon didn't show up as a delivery vehicle for Luke and Leia's first diapers.
Cue the music---go to commercial--When we return...Juggling sensation Mandy Dorn!!!
How's your stomach now?

Why did Lucas do this? Of course we don't know too much from the real Star Wars movies about the nature of the Jedi before the collapse of the Republic but, by the same token, there's nothing that supports Lucas's new conception of the Jedi as emotionless, sententious fuddy-duddies. Certainly I can't be the only one who thinks that the "Jedi are forbidden to love" angle in Episode II is strictly bush-league, the cheapest, laziest possible reason that Lucas could devise to explain Anakin's turning against the Jedi. The Jedi of the prequels are well-nigh devoid of any sympathetic quality. They're incompetent in battle, ignorant of psychology, not all that great with the lightsabre, and they don't want Anakin to date his childhood sweetheart. Why, Lucas, why?
