Terminator-Salvation the 4th installment of the Terminator franchise

This new installment abandons the "sending-a-terminator-back-in-time" premise, and focuses on the war itself. Its somewhat of a sequel, and somewhat of a prequel, and tells the story of how we got there.
anyone else cant wait for this film?
Shit, Fuck, Piss: I had to say that because I can on this website. (Thanks Chef!)

This one may just work out.
I was thinking earlier that these Terminator movies are probably going to end up like the "Invader Zim" episode where Zim keeps sending back the rubber piggies and altering the past further. Oh, it's comical, but not for the Terminator.

Ah yes, this constant ringing that was with me when I saw T3.

T3 ruined the Terminator franchise for me. I don't expect to be entertained by #4, even though I respect Bale as an actor.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

Hmmm, I can't put so much confidence in Bale alone.
He's not a bad actor at all, but what must be considered by the director and writers is, "How are we going to make a film better than T2?"
Look at Robert Patrick (T1000) and he has had very limited roles in films after T2. He's really not that good an actor and he gets crappy roles on TV shows and B-movies. However, Cameron had a good story to work with and the inception of CGI morphing effects was unsurpased at the time.
CGI is overused now, especially in bad movies. Bale will do his job, and quite well may I add, but the director needs a story that is going to be credible enough for people to be engaged in it and empathize with Bale's character.
You could have the sexiest strong men you could find to be Terminators, but it's gonna be "amature night" in the theater if the script and story is crap.

Because James Cameron pretty much owns all. He's easily one of the best action directors of all time. Without him at the helm of T3, it was pretty laughable without his craftsmanship.

Good choice
Exactly!!
i mean when i look back on T3
the only Terminator movie i haven't seen
in its entirety for obvious reasons
i think
wow that was bad, really, REALLY bad
so as i sees it T4: Salvation will be just that
the Salvation of the franchise yay!

Writers: The one that did Catwoman against Jonathan Nolan which is somewhat competent, not really exceptionally skilled on a professional level. He hasn't really put out any stellar work, and if you say Dark Knight, the script is bland while Oldman, Ledger and Eckhart carry it.
All they really need to do to make it passable is lot of guns, shit exploding and things along those lines, which is somewhat out of his skill bank. This would go far better with a Michael Bay or someone that has made a competent action movie (look at his most action oriented material so far, Charlie's Angels, clumsy at best) and possibly somewhat of a visual flair and vision. McG lacks all of those and in no way is the script going to be liquid gold. As if it ever would.
Bale is good, but unless he's playing Patric Bateman, he is never going to carry a movie.
In other words, no I won't be seeing it.

You've never seen "Velvet Goldmine", I'd take it. He may not have carried that movie, considering the main characters were all incredibly well played, but he was still great in it. I hate the way people just default to either Batman or Batemen when discussing Bale.
