I'd say 28 Days Later is another I am Legend. Since it's based on a book that has already had at least two (very loose) adaptations, it couldn't be called original, but it's the first version to be called by the book's name, so it needs to be made.
I, personally, am looking forward to it.

That statement is ridiculous. Apparently, you've never sat and watched Romero's "Dead" films, or "Nosferatu".

*MOVIE RELATED Spoiler*
Show of hands... Who thinks they'll kill mr. Smith?
Show of other hands... who will be more likely to attend if they kill mr. S.?
The previous film adaptations did follow the story and kill off the hero, right?
I am more than a little excited about this movie.

as someone that knows nothing about the book
or the subject all i see
is Will Smith very alone and very sad
driving a fast car he obviously didn't buy
in a New York where everyone is dead
do we really need a rehash of those
15 minutes of Independence Day where
Smith is all alone and talking crazy
or dropping one liner jokes
i just hope this film has
more to offer than this

There's a lightside, a darkside
and it holds everything together

I still love the movie that got made. It's a classic. In fact it's pretty much how our civilization is going.
But a straight up adeptation would be great.

It's not like the book or the previous movies, but then I had a hard time figuring out how Will Smith could pull of Vincent Price's Robert, or the one from the book, for that matter.
Anybody else see it?
